Trying to decide whether or not to visit here last weekend in October. Here is some background info...

Quick trip...flying in Thurs night
Planning 2 Park Days...probably Fri and Sun.
Traveling with first time visitor who loves anything Hollywood.
No Park Hopping this trip.

Is there enough for a full day? Are things blocked off due to construction?

Any info very much appreciated!

When we were there in May there was definitely still enough to do for a full day. Although if you've only got two days, I'll admit that HS wouldn't make the cut for me. We do enjoy it when we've got a long visit. ToT, RRC, SW, Frozen sing along, Great Movie Ride, TSMM, The Beauty and The Beast show. And Lights, Motor Action is my DHs favorite thing at this park. Throw in a relaxing meal at Sci-Fi and some shopping/sight seeing. There you have it. Full day. But again- that was May. I can't answer for construction now.

Yeah, the park is undergoing a shift and right now there is a lot missing, and most of it is what created the "Hollywood" feel. It's still a nice park though, and if you like all the shows, you can fill up a day for sure. Great Movie Ride got a recent minor refresh that was pretty well received, and you still have Tower of Terror, Rock'n Rollercoaster, and Star Tours. Fantasmic! is still my favorite night time show too. If you're fine with doing more shows than rides, then it's still okay to go.

If you plan on seeing all of the shows that DHS then yes you can make it a full day.
A lot of attractions have closed in the past 2 years so it can be a half day park for some people, especially if you don't plan on seeing all of the shows.

While I love DHS, I would take a first time visitor to Epcot and MK. You could add park hoppers and do DHS in the morning and then boat over to Epcot for the rest of the day.

People seem to think otherwise, but really the park is mostly the same from two years ago. Main things I can think if: The sorcerer hat is gone. The animation building is closed. Backlot tour is closed. Bill Cosby's head is gone. ;) Anyone think of others?

Frozen sing along was added.

The big shows and attractions are all still there.

Not sure how long ago these closed but they used to have the American Idol Experience show, Drew Carry Sounds Dangerous show (might've been over 2 years), behind the scenes and costumes of whatever movie just came out (the Narnia movies were some that I remember being there).

With only two days I wouldn't do HS especially with a first timer. MK would be a definite but I would probably do AK over EPCOT unless the person you're traveling with is a big eater/drinker and you can really enjoy hanging out in WS.

MK and HS are our favorite parks... but things have changed over the years. MK has always been #1, but first time visiting AK was #2, then HS, then EP. 2nd and 3rd year HS moved up to #2, then AK, then EP. Now it's MK, HS, EP, AK.

OP here. Thanks so much! Think we will stick with MK and Epcot and keep HS for the future. i know she will love it all.
