DH said today he wants to go to US in January for a "honeymoon" trip. We never had one when we got married. I've planned for disney A LOT for our other trips, but I haven't been to US since I was a teenager, let alone planned for it.

Where should I start looking at rooms for HRH? We have AAA, but I'm completely clueless as to where to even begin. :scared1: It'd be from a Wednesday to a Sunday. (Not even sure of the dates yet, lol) He sprung this on me today and I want to plan it before he can change his mind. :rotfl2:

PLEASE HELP!!! :worship::worship:

AAA is a good place to check for pricing. I seem to recall getting a room at HRH in the Fall season for $199 using AAA. Part of that discount was due our room being a "blocked view" room, which for us meant looking out the window and seeing the gravel roof below.

The fact that you're staying 4 nights could get you a good deal straight through Lowe's hotel - they often offer a Stay More Save More rate.

Of course better than either of those are the rates you get from a mailed pin code (I got one this year for the first time - $132 a night for RPR)... I don't know how they determine those mailers. Or the other way is the Annual Pass - buy just one and you could get a nicely discounted room rate on most stays (not all, there are black out dates). But to make an AP pass worth it's cost you probably need to be planning at least two visits in the next year.

Hope that was somewhat helpful, those are all the avenues I'd look into.

Best place to start is by giving the hotel a call and seeing what rates they have for your visit. They will try to find you the best deals and answer any questions that you may have.

I would also price out the difference if you purchased one annual pass. The savings can more than make up for the price.

Call AAA and their travel team will help price out the hotel, and the tickets.

Then I would call the hotel itself and see what price you can get. However, I have found that AAA gives the best discount, unless you have a PIN code, have an anual pass discount, or Lowes is having an online sale.

But first thing you may want to do is nail down low cost airfare - that will drive the dates of your trip.

You'll have a blast

We always use the Disny Travel Agents to plan. You can all of the available packages/rates, and quickly find out what makes the most sense to you.

Good Luck!

Plane fare are greatly varying, so you may want to book this yoursrelf, if you are up to followig the fares.

it is cheaper to book items separately and avoid a package.
book the room, buy the tickets.

We have always found it to be cheaper to book our trips separately and not as a package. We use a discount for the room and buy our tickets through AAA with the discount they offer. The first time we went we booked a package and it did end up being more expensive than doing it separately.

I'm in the same boat
we own dvc and it's easy
doing a 4 night trip in march
doubletree is free with my HH points, on site seems high, is it worth it?

Yes, soooo worth it. Front of the line express pass would be a huge deal during spring break season. If it's in the budget I would stay on site.

*You can't beat free, but if you can save your points and use those with a different vacation it might be worth it.
