We are staying at RPR for 9 nights and on our second day we are planning to have a really early start (we shall still be in UK time!) hit US and then late afternoon, visit HRH to use the pool and possibly have dinner there also.

1. How is the pool slide (compred to say POFQ and WL)?

2. Which restaurant shall we choose? - not too expensive (looking at similar pricing to say, Margarittaville)

3. We are planning to visit in August and from past experience, we know it is likely that it will rain at that time - is there anything at HRH to keep us occupied (and more importantly our 12yo DD) it in the event of a sudden storm?

The Kitchen is a good choice for dinner...prices are not unreasonable, but certainly high relative to the menu choices. If it rains you can spend a good hour or so touring the inside of the resort and looking at the rock momentos...that should cover the average length of a summer thunderstorm.

Have fun and enjoy!!

The HRH pool slide is nice, does a turn, then drops into the pool. Here's a picture of it.

The Kitchen would probably be a good choice. Here is their menu.

Or you could order food from the pool side bar and share something smaller. Once you sit down on beach chairs, waitresses will walk by asking if you want a drink and if you'd like to order food. Order an adult beverage or two and then have an appetizer as a snack.

It usually rains at about 4-6pm. If you get an early start, you could visit USF from 9:00am - noon, then head over to the HRH to go swimming. You could bring your cloths with you to USF and put them into a locker at the front of the park for $5. That way you wouldn't have to walk all the way back to the RPR to change.

Another option is to reserve a cabana. You have a table so that you can order food and eat it comfortably. Shade (and a cooling ceiling fan) from the hot August sun. An "indoor" space to protect from rain and a television to keep DD occupied if it rains.

We love having a cabana at HRH and eating by the pool. It is so relaxing, as you do not have to get up and get dressed to go somewhere. And the pool food is very good.
