Umbridge: *Walks into the hospital wing* Professor Flitwick is unfortunately busy. So, I have been sent. I do have some training in mending. What is the problem?

Crystal: Er - I was able to treat most of it myself. But, there's something wrong with my leg. I can't walk right.

Umbridge: *Feels her left leg* You have a broken bone in your leg. *uses a spell to mend it* You will be able to walk in several hours. Stay here until then. I will have Jackson watch over you and help you. Also, detention for being in the forest against Filch's request....for both of you. *looks at both Crystal and Jackson. Chuckles and leaves*

Crystal: Okay Professor. *sighs after she leaves* She gives me the creeps......

Jackson: Yeah, I have mixed feelings. She has well tortured me before....the cruciatus curse.

Crystal: *eyes widen* But - but- but that's an Unforgivable Curse! If I was fighting a Death Eater who was trying to kill me I probably wouldn't be above using one..........but a teacher using it on a student?! That's just plain wrong! If anyone's parents besides mine knew........ Anyway, how could you go through that and have only mixed feelings?

Jackson: I don't know. I can't tell though, because she is the ministry, the ministry is her. You are the first I have told. *starts to cry from memory of the pain*

Crystal: Of course, the Prophet's rubbish these days and the Ministry's pretending everything's fine and dandy. Hey, don't cry. Be strong, Jackson. Be strong like me. Thicken your skin, harden your heart - that's how you survive. You can't let Umbridge break you, you can't let anything break you. Be strong, not for others, but for yourself. Don't wait to be saved; don't depend on the others, I'm not dependable. Save yourself, become strong.

Jackson: I don't care what people say about you. You are a great and such a strong girl. Stronger then I am. I'm proud to call you a friend. These are just dark times, they get to you.

Crystal: Huh. Maybe there's some of that, but I let someone die this summer because of my own mistakes. You interested in a long story with a sucky ending?

Jackson: Only if you are up to reliving it. *sits down on her bed*

Crystal: Well, I live out in the country, in a small community mostly made up of farmersa. However, there are a few wizarding families there, and some of the farming families have Muggle born wizard children. They're all good kids, and during the summer we have good times together.

Two months ago, we decided to go rock climbing in this canyon nearby. We'd done so a thousand times over the years, I still don't know why that day was any different. So we set off very early that morning, and we got to the climbing stop around mid morning. Set up all of our equipment, went through all of the safety procedures. We'd climb down to this large ledge with an awesome view and eat luch, and when we'd eaten and rested up we'd climb back up and head home so we'd be back in time for dinner. Everything was going according to plan.

We got down all right, and we ate. It was on the way up when we had trouble.

Everyone was doing okay, when I put my hand on a normally stable handhold and the whole rock face of that part of the rocks broke off of the canyoun and started falling. I let go and witt noting else to hold onto I started swinging on my rope. A boy directly underneath me, Jason, was struggling to find a grip as well, but the others seemed to be okay. Jason was using one of the older ropes, so I tied his to mine for good measure, and then I got a lucky hold, and we kept climbing.

Then Jason's rope snapped. I grabbed his hand, and for what seemed like forever we hung there. I couldn't climb up, or I'd lose Jason, but I wasn't in a good position to be in. The others were too high to be of any help, the highest were only just getting to the edge. Then somebody dropped the lunch basket........I thought I had a good hold on Jason.........I can use one hand just as well as the other.........but as I reached out and grabbed that basket, Jason's hand slipped out of mine, and............and he fell........

The others eventually pulled me by my rope out of the canyon...........but there was no one to pull Jason out............he was going to be a fourth year this year.......he was a Hufflepuff........good boy, loved his father more than anyone else.........and now he'd gone. He died because of me.

Jackson: He died due to a freak accident. It was directly you. You put the blame on yourself. It was an accident Crystal.

Ooc: Caitlin? (Hoping I spelled your name right)

OOC: Dinner, sorry

Crystal: But, would he have lived if I hadn't reached for the basket? See, it is my fault.

And then I was friends with Diggory, and my bad luck got him killed by Voldemort............

And then my little sister, Fiona, she up and disappeared one day back in second year. No one was there, I have no idea if she ran away, or if she was kidnapped.

My stupid parents........I was at school, and when they found out she was gone, they told me nothing. Acted like everything was okay. When I came home for Christmas, they said she had gone to stay with a friend in London because the friend had gotten injured and was in St. Mungos. I had met this friend and she was really clumsy, so I didn't think anything of it. When I came home after the year ended, they told me she was with Aunt Silvia. But Aunt Silvia and I are really close, and she had already written me earlier that day talking about her vacation in America. So I knew Fiona wasn't with her. I confronted them, and they admitted the truth, and ever since I haven't trusted them and avoided them at all costs. Meanwhile, Fiona is still gone. If she's alive, she's probably out of the country by now. I hope she got into Beauxbatons, to go to school. At least there she'd be safe.

Jackson: It has nothing to with you. It was all just happened. As bad as that sounds, it is true. Don't blame yourself.
