Crystal: Well, I live out in the country, in a small community mostly made up of farmersa. However, there are a few wizarding families there, and some of the farming families have Muggle born wizard children. They're all good kids, and during the summer we have good times together.
Two months ago, we decided to go rock climbing in this canyon nearby. We'd done so a thousand times over the years, I still don't know why that day was any different. So we set off very early that morning, and we got to the climbing stop around mid morning. Set up all of our equipment, went through all of the safety procedures. We'd climb down to this large ledge with an awesome view and eat luch, and when we'd eaten and rested up we'd climb back up and head home so we'd be back in time for dinner. Everything was going according to plan.
We got down all right, and we ate. It was on the way up when we had trouble.
Everyone was doing okay, when I put my hand on a normally stable handhold and the whole rock face of that part of the rocks broke off of the canyoun and started falling. I let go and witt noting else to hold onto I started swinging on my rope. A boy directly underneath me, Jason, was struggling to find a grip as well, but the others seemed to be okay. Jason was using one of the older ropes, so I tied his to mine for good measure, and then I got a lucky hold, and we kept climbing.
Then Jason's rope snapped. I grabbed his hand, and for what seemed like forever we hung there. I couldn't climb up, or I'd lose Jason, but I wasn't in a good position to be in. The others were too high to be of any help, the highest were only just getting to the edge. Then somebody dropped the lunch basket........I thought I had a good hold on Jason.........I can use one hand just as well as the other.........but as I reached out and grabbed that basket, Jason's hand slipped out of mine, and............and he fell........
The others eventually pulled me by my rope out of the canyon...........but there was no one to pull Jason out............he was going to be a fourth year this year.......he was a Hufflepuff........good boy, loved his father more than anyone else.........and now he'd gone. He died because of me.
