Hp world busiest worst planned park in world what were they thinking?

Make no doubt...this is the neatest best park but what are they thinking? They cannot handle crowds lineups ...even for butter beer. The wand shop was awesome but we had a thirty min wait at eight am ....even guests with early entry, they let 27 at a time in there. Great acting By wand maker. ok we are here at Xmas but we were at wdw dec 28 with nps even as they closed the parks to capacity.
Just be prepared for the long long long waits and huge huge crowds, my sixth time at universal and Disney.

I understand how you feel but you can blame JK Rowling for most of the HP space. She wanted everything as "real" as possible including small stores and cramped spaces. I think the lesson has been learned and when the expansion is built, there will be better arrangements made.

The crowds around Christmas are the biggest of the year so anyone coming to Orlando and hoping to breeze through any theme park is kidding themselves. I got a kick out of the tourists who were so angry at the crowd sizes. Most are gone now and by next weekend, crowds will be much more manageable.

I have also read on here that because of the fast pass system, Disney ride line ups are longer waits than universal. So without real numbers to back up what you report it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
Wwohp is also the newest theme park attraction in the area so of course it is going to draw more people than wow for it's size.

To answer the thread title directly, they were thinking this.....if we create a busy theme park we will profit from this.

We went to IoA on November 27th. Forbidden Journey was a walk-on for most of the day and we waited 10 minutes for Ollivanders. If you don't want to wait, don't come at Christmas.

Acutally, it's all part of the true magic users anti-muggle conspiracy. They were very upset that JKR shined such a spotlight on them and they bewitched the Universal folks into creating such an aggravating experience that they hope it will turn the muggles away and let them return to their nefarious activites under the cloak of secrecy. Maybe the crowds will die down in a few years but it's doubtful. Soarin' opened at Epcot back in 2005 and it was seeing 240-300 minute waits last week.

If you build it, they will come... in droves... ESPECIALLY during Christmas week.

I know the crowds are frustrating, but it just wouldn't be the same to me if the new HP land had huge stores. My strategy is to visit on less crowded days of the week and only a few hours before park closing (though I have never bothered with Ollivander's). Hopefully the designers of the new land will strike a good balance between crowd control and maintaining the authentic atmosphere!

They were probably thinking the mania would eventually die down and it would settle into what JKR wanted it to be. A close replica of what is in the books and movies.
Except for weekends and major holidays, I'd say it was almost there.

I remember going to WWoHP back in July 2010. I knew that attraction would be crowded, but I was still pretty shocked at the lines for "Forbidden Journey" (which ranged from 45-75 minute waits) when I got there. I remember waiting in long lines for Forbidden Journey but the wait was worth it. (Plus I've waited in long lines before, so it wasn't that big of a deal.)

Next time I go, I'm going to make sure there's no crowds at all.

I don't understand why people are upset at the Wizarding World's crowds when Forbidden Journey has not gone past 180 minutes.

There was a news story done about the Christmas week theme park crowds, and they interviewed a lady who said she was upset that she paid full price for her family to come in and had everything at 2+ hour waits. She said "Universal is more concerned about ticket revenue than letting everyone enjoy themselves."

Okay, so next year, Universal will only let in 10,000 guests to IOA. Everything will be a walk on, and the Disney parks will be cramming in 75,000+ into Magic Kingdom and Epcot and be making 10x the amount of money that Universal would make.

^See? It doesn't make sense. I wish that lady had talked about ALL the Orlando parks and not just Universal. On New Year's Eve, Soarin was at 300 minutes, Test Track was at 260 with a 120 minute single rider's line, and rides like Spaceship Earth and Imagination were at an hour.

It's just a busy time to come.

Not to mention...Disney has FREE fastpass..the fact that universal charges for its express pass and the price goes up with the crowd prediction( last week the expres pass was going for $99),Sticks in alot of peoples craws..I had a friend that just came back and was LIVID that Universal/IOA were so packed and that they charge for "fastpasses" and she is NEVER going back or giving Unversal a dime of her money..blah blah blah.. ..Apparently no matter what Universal does or doesn't do, people find fault with it...The news station that had that woman on should have mentioned that last week DHS,MK ,AK,US,IOA ,Seaworld and legoland ALL CLOSED to capacity
