Hi! I need the experience of all of you Disney lovers out there...

I'm thinking of going to WDW (probably the Contemporary) the Tuesday after Labor Day next year. I've never been there at that time of year before, and was wondering about the weather and crowds... Is it still oppressively hot and does it still rain every day in the late afternoon?

Thanks for your input!!

Karen :)

You've picked a great time to go IMHO:D

We've always gone that time of year as our anniversary is Sept.14th and the crowds labor day wknd are awful but come that first day after the wknd, we always almost seemed to have the parks to ourselves!;) (we used to go from labor day wknd through the next 2 weeks)

As for heat and rain, it's still quite hot here in FL in Sept. and it does rain alot but usually not enough for the entire day to be wrecked so not to worry.

Have a great time!!

Hi! Our trip this year was 9/1 (lLabor Day) to 9/8.

There were no crowds at all. No waits that I can remember anywhere. Didn't get over to see fireworks at MK which usually draws crowds so don't know about that but at Fantasmic the theater was not full. Illuminations, you could find good viewing anywhere. Had no problems with last minute PS.

We were at YC and that was empty. We went to Storm along bay 3 times and empty there. We were on the concierge level and the desk CM said that there were 65 rooms on that level and a total of 61 guests there at the time--not rooms filled, bodies!

The only thing bad was the heat! Am not used to that at all and it was really oppressive, muggy, etc. It only rained on us a couple of nights. Looked like it was going to a few times but didn't. The temp at AK is 10degrees hotter then anywhere else. It was really miserable there and we didn't stay too long.

Love bugs were horrid. Even the CM said they hadn't seen it this bad in a while. There were mesquitos too. Take bug spray.

All in all, it was a good trip but I don't think I'll go again at that time because of the heat.

I was in WDW fom 8/29-9/6 this year. The few days leading up to Labor Day were crowded, but Labor Day (Monday) and after were quiet. Test Track had a 15 minute wait in the middle of the day, which is practically unheard of. Between Labor Day and mid-September is historically a very quiet time of year to visit. You'll love it! :)

Thank you everyone for the info!

It sounds like we will be going, but will plan on taking some time to cool off in the pool (and we should have plenty of time, since we won't be waiting in line!).

Scoootch - Good luck with your new baby! He or she will certainly change the way you do Disney... No more quiet, romantic dinners watching the fireworks from the California Grill, but character meals will be a lot more fun!

Thanks again everyone!
Karen
