We are planning on going down next December for a pre-Christmas trip and are trying to pinpoint down exactly which week to go.
How has the weather been? Can I still wear shorts during the day and maybe hit the pool? What about jackets in the evening?
Thanks in advance to all who answer!!!

Hi,

One thing about the winter months in Orlando: you never can tell!

Just because the weather was a certain way this year doesn't mean that's what you'll get next year. You'll need to be prepared for everything from cool mornings with days near 80, to mornings near freezing and afternoons in the 50s. Unfortunately, you'll need to pack everything you own!

It has been cold for Orlando...my kindergarten students are wearing pants and long sleeves and jackets to school, although they don't keep the jackets on to play outside...I'd say no to shorts in the am, unless you are a hearty soul...it has been in the 60's but tomorrow is supposed to be in the 70's. I guess you could pack 1 pair of shorts...and remember, the pools are heated... :)

Recently (the past 3-4 days) the lows are in the 40's and the highs range from 65-72. They think this will continue for a week or so with the occasional rain shower.

Just be prepared to bundle up, especially after 5 when the sun goes down. For MVMCP I had on a long sleeved t-shirt, a light jogging jacket, and then a sweatshirt. I also wore a light pair of gloves. It was perfect, but by 11PM I was getting cold. I turned our heat up to 70 in our room before we left at 4PM for MK and by midnight when we got back, it had only risen .8 of a degree so I'm not sure how the heat is supposed to work in the rooms. I shivered myself to sleep!
