This is our 1st trip to DLR--is the water at hotels and the parks as bad as WDW/Florida??? Didn't know if we could just refill our water bottles in the room--or is it awful tasting?

I do not care for the OC/LA water, just has a funny smell and taste.
Even when I lived there I did not drink it and that was a long, long time ago.

Well, it's not great by any means (bring flavor packets!) but I can assure you it's not as bad as Florida WDW water. God, that stuff could gag a maggot.

I couldn't even stand to brush my teeth with it (at the Grand Californian; guess they don't filter!) Yuck.

Bring or buy bottled water,,,it's the only way to be sure. :rolleyes1

Our water is heavily chlorinated, and I find it tastes pretty bad - I didn't mind the taste of the water at all, but once I found out it is recycled sewer water, I can't get past that... just can not.

So, we buy bottled water, and I just found out now there are filtered water spigots (to fill your own bottles) at 4 various places around the parks, (plus the nursery) - one is at the restaurant where they do the Star Wars presentation, can't recall the remaining three. There was a thread on this forum though.

I would think though, fountain soda, as well as Mimi's strawberry lemonade are all made with the water so I guess I can't resist it, after all. :goodvibes

I have come to the conclusion that Idaho's water must be absolutely horrendous since I find both Florida and So. Cal's water to taste just fine. Of course this saves me a lot of money in the long run :)

I'd have to agree. While people in the town next to me think the water is fine, I have a well and find the town's water to be a little bad. But WDW and Anahiem water is really bad. Still though I drink it. Because A. I don't waste plastic because I'm thirsty, B. because I'm thirsty enough and don't mind the unchilled drinking fountains.

When I was a kid I live in norcal and thought the water was fine(went back as an adult and realized I was merely used to it). When as a kid I went to LA, I couldn't stand that water, unless I melted ice in the hotel. Now I drink water everywhere. But the best I ever had was out of creek on the continental divide. It makes me thirsty thinking about it.

I think the water in the parks is decent. Why not fill up at places like Rancho del Zocalo? If nothing else, the water is cool :-).

I can take sips of the water from the tap, but cannot drink a whole glass. It does have a heavy chlorinated taste and kind of a sulfur-y smell.

We usually buy a case or two of bottled water from Walmart or Target.

Coming from the Sierras in NorCal where you can drink water straight out of the tap and have it be better than bottled water, the tap water in OC/LA is pretty gross. I'm very anti-bottled water, so I use a filter while in SoCal, but obviously that's not very achievable while at DL.

But it is always nice going back home to NorCal and drinking a cold glass of mountain water straight from the sink tap :cloud9:
