buffet? what characters?
how was your experience?
We're celebrating a friend's birthday here on the 22nd

We went last month and really liked it. The breakfast is buffet style and has lots of food! Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daffy were there and each one came around about 2-3 times. Lots of pictures taken. The kids enjoyed it. I will do this again if we ever go back to AK!

there is a children's parade around the restaurant, the kids get noise makers to bang... it can be very loud... but the food is above avg... several bomaesque choices, plenty of traditional choices.

Many of the servers are from the previous location, so if you get the chance to sit in the Neil or Mike section... take it.

They do the pic out front thing like at many of the other character breakfasts... you can make a reservation as early at 8:05 which is usually before the park opens... I recommend this time highly for two reasons... the food is that much more fresh... they maintain the buffet right up to the change over for lunch very well... but you also are in the exact right spot for the first ride of the morning for the Safari. Expect a lot of motion and emotion first thing in the morning... they seat a lot of people very quickly at first sitting, so lines do appear at the food stations for about the first 15 min. in the morning, but move very quickly.

ECV and Stroller rental is open at 8am ish with the early breakfast reservations entry to the park.

Daffy? Was he on loan from Six Flags? ;)

LOL.......I meant Daisy. :lmao:

True story....when we got to the restaurant I kept saying Daffy adn DH was arguing with me. He kept saying NO IT"S DAISY! LOL I swore I was right! This went on for the first 3 minutes until I realized! :scared: :headache:

We were there begin of Mar and Daisy was not there. :sad2:
My DD never got to meet her before and looked forward to it, but luckily she met her at P&P

OOOOHH!! i'm so excited just booked up for 17/6 my daughter CANNOT wait to see Donald and my son to see Mickey!!! hope to get lots of lovely photos!!!! Hey are the disney(photopass) photographers in there too??

:donald: :mickeyjum

photo pass photographers are not inside at the character meals, they take a group shot in a location outside the restaurant. so bring your instimatic.

Is the breakfast any different here than at Breakfastosaurus?

the food is different, in addition to traditional breakfast there is some boma like selections, which is to say african inspired. And the restaurant is more space, with out the small compartment rooms like in old location. Other wise it is a lot of the same wait staff.

Thanks. The food sounds great - We like trying different foods. I did liket the small rooms although character buffets seem to be hectic no matter what kind of set-up :goodvibes . I have an 8:15 ADR. Do you think we can be out of there close to 9:00?

I think you need to allow an hour, I had an 8:05, was there on the dot and i didn't get out of there till 9:10 which really upset me as i could see people strolling towards the safari:rotfl: The food is far superior to what used to be at breakfastasaurus and the stations are well spread out so you shouldn't be caught in a crush, especially at that time. My favourites were the orange flavoured bread (definately try a few of these breads and pastries, outstanding) and the freshly carved ham, like i said far superior quality. Saw Goofy, Mickey, Donald and Daisy but this was back in December.

Did you have to wait long for the safari? My ADR is for 8:40 or something.

Thanks for the great info. I'd be upset about people getting into the park before I got out of there too! 8:15 was the earliest I was able to get, but I'll keep trying:) . Your descriptions made me excited about the food!

We love Neil... He is the best server we have ever had in Disney... He is from Long Island (like us) and he has such a great way about him... He also takes really great pictures for you with your camera...

We like the breakfast at Tusker... The selection of food is bigger then before and we like that it is set up in stations instead of one long, table... Thought the food was good, although did not have anything super special... Character interaction is good and the parade is fun...The atmopsphere is cool...

There are however a couple of changes we don't like.... The place is very loud.... The tables are very close together (like right on top of each other)... It is so crowded with tables and chairs that we found it hard to interact with the characters... We also don't like that Pluto is gone... We like the addition of Daisy but wish it do not mean the end of Pluto.

It must be popular, because it's booked solid!

It's the only ADR I haven't been able to get for late April/early May. I'll keep trying, mostly because I would love to back there before park opening.

when do they start operating the rides? if we are done before 9:00am, will we be able to get on rides right away? also do they start the fastpass machines first thing, or when needed? We are going early Aug., so it would be nice to get as many rides done early before it gets crowded and HOT!

I had an ADR for this, but then we cancelled it a few weeks back. But the other night we decided to get it again. So hopefully we'll be able to get to Everest right after we eat (is that really a good idea? Eat a huge breakfast, and then hit a roller coaster? :confused3 )
