How's the food at chef mickey's

We've been to CM twice for dinner and it gets progressively worse. Almost all the side dishes have some sort of cheese sauce. No variety there. My DS8 and DS6 were upset because the characters would bypass our table, I actually had to stop Mickey and ask if he could come back to say Hi to my boys (I know how the characters are supposed to rotate around the room). Donald wouldn't go to our table at all. My kids actually grabbed apples because the food was so mediocre and they're not picky eaters. For $79 plus tax and tip, I won't go back.

Chef Mickey's dinner is easily the worst food at Disney. The Golden Corral is 5 star compared to Chef Mickey's.
You are better off not eating than going there.

Its gross...the only good thing about it is mickey...but you can see mickey other places, to me NOT worth it.It is hard to mess up breakfast food but they do..

I totally agree and honestly don't even think that Mickey was good. The characters were rushed to say the least when we were there and Mickey flat out skipped us...we had to ask to have him brought over. CM was honestly our worst character meal all week.

We went to Chef Mickey for breakfast on 05/07/10 and we enjoyed it. Breakfast food is hard to mess up and it just seemed like typical breakfast food. Nothing spectacular but I didn't think it was disgusting.

and here is my review:

Chef Mickey’s - We weren’t going to give it another chance as it was horrible in ’07 and I wish we had decided to stay away. Our table was awful right by the kitchen door the CM’s got in the way of almost every picture and it was so loud by that door. We were going to ask to move but we wanted to get to the parks and didn’t want to wait any longer for a seat. The food on the buffet was cold the waffles were sitting out for a long time and the eggs were really really runny and cold. This is not up to par compared to Crystal Palace, or Cape May Cafe' breakfast. We will not be giving Chef Mickey’s another shot. I would recommend Ohana’s and Cape May Café to get pictures with Mickey and Friends. My mom already canceled her reservations here in October when she goes back with my sister. :wizard:

We were there in April and did not enjoy it. The food was eh and the character interaction was over in a split second. 1900 PF was much better for both food & characters.

Don't go!!! The food is horrible! The characters RUSH by the table! I will NEVER go back. If u want characters just make the lines at the park....your kids will have more time with them at the park then at CM!!

I would recommend Ohana’s and Cape May Café to get pictures with Mickey and Friends.

That's our plan for our trip next March. Don't get me wrong, I think CM's is one of those places that everyone should try at least once just for the experience. As bad as our meal was, it will always be special to us as it was our kids first character meal and the looks on their faces when they saw the characters was absolutely priceless but now that we have that priceless memory, we're opting for better food and atmosphere next time.

Although most of the breakfast fare on property is somewhat standard, we discovered that some places do standard better than others.

When we went Breakfast was OK (and just ok, not good or great) a dinner was, well not good, we didn't enjoy the food.

We are doing breakfast again on our next trip as my DS wants to go, but we are not going for the food, we are going for the characters and the atmosphere so we can cope with OK food

The absolute best character breakfast is at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. The food is fantastic! They do a beautiful job at seating so characters come to your tables and spend tons of time. They also have a little dance or march they do with the kids.
I've written Disney multiple times and suggested that all character dining follow the format at Tusker House!

We always eat at Chef Mickeys for breakfast and love the atmosphere, character interaction as think the food is good. Selections include Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, breakfast pizza (which I love), pastries, french toast sticks, cereal , etc. Overall good experience.

I'm not a fan of buffets, but I love the atmosphere of CM. The interaction with the characters is great. Last time the characters seemed to spend a bit longer with our 3 yo granddaughter. We will be back.

We LOVED Chef Mickeys and thought the food was GREAT. Best character meal went attended

The food was decent, we didn't find it to be much different from other character buffets. We do prefer the breakfast to the dinner.

We love Chef Mickey's, but the food has really gotten yucka. The weird thing is this past April we went and the food was incredible. I mean so good that when my parents arrived a few days later we decided to go back and take them...and the food was horrible. Totally different menu. It really was terrible and I am not a picky food person. We must have been there on an odd day when they mixed it up a bit, but the second time we went a few days later, we had to talk to the chef and get something made for our 1 yo who can't do dairy. Everything on the buffet had some sort of dairy cheesy weird sauce. We mentioned to the chef that the buffet menu was totally different a few days ago and he said he no idea what they will give him any given day and he has to make due with what he gets. Anyway, long story short...too late...it was pretty bad. Bad enough that we don't think we will go back, and we really love Chef Mickey's. :(

Chef Mickey's is one of my two favourite dining experiences in WDW, well anywhere actually!
We've only been for dinner and the food is certainly N O T horrible by any means. Don't expect a 5 star restaurant, but there's lots of choice, good food, super character greetings and an overall great experience :)

We had breakfast there this summer. It was ok, the eggs aren't real, but I do love the Mickey Waffles. The dinner menu didn't do it for me. Can't eat prime rib in Orlando in August. This place is more about the experience. The kids had a blast, and loved the food. That is what it is all about...

We use to always make it there for breakfast and dinner and loved it. The last 2 years it has been getting worse. I will not make time to go there anymore the food is awful.

Is there a salad bar at CM for dinner? What do they typically have for dinner?
I'm not expecting anything fantastic, especially from what people have said, but we're also considering CM for dinner.
