How's Pizzafari?

I can't comment on the food, as I've never eaten there, but the atmosphere is awesome.

The Italian Sandwich there is awesome. I also get the chicken ceasar salad to split with my daughter. My kids love it there.

The Hot Italian Sandwich is very good. It's a great place to cool off & our CS of choice if we are hungry later in the day, after Tusker House closes.

I think I might be critical of the pizza if I were home in NY, since we have such excellent pizza, but everything just tastes better at WDW.

I wish I were at Pizzafari right now! :sunny:

sorul82?,
There used to be pizza on the kid's menu at Pizzafari. The problem was that the kid's pizza was the same exact thing as the regular pizza, yet it also came with a drink and snack. The kid's pizza deal was also cheaper than the regular pizza. Therefore, everybody started buying the cheaper kid's pizza deal, and nobody would buy the pricier regular pizza.

Call me loopy, but I LOVE the pizza in WDW. I really do - and Pizzafari is the best counter service restaurant in the entire World. :thumbsup2

That's pretty interesting-- we ate at Pizzafari last week, and I didn't understand why there wasn't a kid's meal with pizza-- I ended up ordering a cheese pizza for my dd8, because the kid's menu didn't appeal to her whatsoever... she normally loves quesadillas, but thought it sounded "weird" to eat them with pizza sauce.

We thought even if they cut the regular pizza in half for the kid's meal, it would make more sense than no pizza on the kid's menu at a pizza place!!!

We also ate at Pizza Planet, and it tasted like the exact same pizza.... Pizza Planet seemed like a better deal, though, since it came with a salad, as a side.

Please take the following comments as light hearted as they are intended, and please keep in mind that I have a warped sense of humor!

So, is there any CS in AK that has pizza on the kids' menu? Maybe Petrifries will stop selling fries, and add pizza for kids!! :rotfl2:

And now let the flaming begin!!!
We will be using the ddp, so we had planned to use adult cs for adults at flame tree and child cs at pizzafari for the kiddies. What do we do now? If we use adult cs for the kiddies for pizza, that will leave us short on adult cs. But wait....Pizza Planet doesn't have a kids menu. Do we dare use the extra child cs that we didn't use at AK to buy the adults pizza when we go to MGM? Will I be permanently labeled as a plan abuser? From what I'm reading, it's the same pizza, and the same oop price, so is it a harmless swap?

we love this place. its really cute inside. yep the sandwich is good, we still get the pizza to. we have to go here every time, it makes us feel at home.hah.....wish we were there now......................

Well.... you won't get flamed from me.... as a matter of fact.... we may be flamed together. So be it. I'll admit it-- this was our one and only "variation" in the dining plan.

As you said, there's no child's menu at Pizza Planet. We didn't plan it that way when we went.... as a matter of fact, when we walked in, the place was vacant--I was standing there scouring the menu trying to find the child's menu (I had read the menus on Allears, but didn't remember the specifics of all the counter service places.) So I asked the CM, he very apologetically said "No, there's no child's meal." I asked, "Then, I just order from the adult menu for her on the ddp?" He said, "Sure!!!!"

Fast forward to Pizzafari.... I guess I was mistakenly thinking the menu would be basically the same. As a matter of fact, it was dd8's "turn" to choose lunch. She was craving cheese pizza. I (for a couple of seconds) tried to convince her that the quesadilla and dipping sauce were the 'same thing' and she looked at me like I was from another planet!!! She wanted pizza.... she CHOSE the pizza place.... she's a kid! So... I ordered the pizza for her.

But, in reality, there were several times when we did not order the desserts... and quite a few times when we skipped the drinks at Pop (since we had our legal mugs-- unlike many others we saw at Pop drinking out of "non-Pop" cups/ mugs --another topic, I know! :thumbsup2. It actually became a "game" to my daughter to quietly point out (to us) someone with the "wrong" mug) As a matter of fact, on our last day dh packed our mugs in our checked luggage, and instead of filling our empty water bottles with icees while we waited for the magical express, we used snack credits to "purchase" fountain drink cups. :drinking1

I thought in the case of Pizzafari, the child's choices were pretty goofy. As I said in my original response, if they don't want to do a full-size pizza, cut one in half, add the applesauce and mickey crackers, and charge $3.99 and they've got a pizza kid's meal!!!
