Just checking to make sure I haven't missed anything ovious on my TS's. Have I got all the good characters covered? How's my mix of character/non-character/good food? We did CRT last year, so I skipped it this year. All other meals will be CS--I'm WAYYYY over my TS limit, but that's alright. ;) Thanks for any input!

Mon: Crystal Palace dinner (had to have Pooh ASAP!!!)

Tue: GF Cafe breakfast
1900 Park Fare dinner

Wed: H&V Fantasmic

Thur: Akershus brkfst (had to have the Princesses)
Chefs de France dinner

Fri: Donald's brkfst
Poly Luau (did HDDR last year and loved it!)

Sat: Chef Mickey's brkfst

Thanks so much for the reply! I just wanted to be sure that I had not done something silly. like not booked a meal with Mickey himself. :rotfl:

Other than not recommending H&V, the schedule of events looks good to me!

Yeah, I went back and forth with MM and H&V. The deciding factor was that I figured the kids would have a little more variety at H&V. I sure hope I'm correct in that thinking. :confused3

Another vote for dumping H & V.

Why?

A few too many buffets for me and this would be the one to dump! I would replace it with a nice sit down ala carte meal.

I love WDW buffets and they far surpass any others I have gone to locally but nothing beats a freshly prepared meal!

Just my opinion guided by the fact that DH is not a fan of buffets so I have to make sure I balance it all well on our trips.

We just did the H&V Fantasmic deal - and we were really disappointed. It was icky. The room is ugly - I know its supposed to look like a diner type place (all stainless steel) but to me there was no "Kitsch" to it. It looked like a run down diner. We left the Fantasmic seating tickets by accident on our table - but had no problem whatsoever getting seats in the Stadium. We got to the stadium at about 8:30. So we really didn't even have to do that package. We did some fantastic buffets (1900 Park Faire and Cape May) so H&V was a complete letdown,

We've been to H&V twice, once for the Fantasmic package and once because they were the only TS taking walk ins. They have 3 or 4 different selections for the kids on the buffet. I thought the salmon was decent. But I agree that if you have any other choice to take it. If you go in with low expectations you may be pleasantly surprised. Jeez, guess that's not really a ringing endorsement. :confused3

So what do you suggest instead of H&V? I am certainly open for suggestions! Here's our cast of characters: dh (eats anything that doesn't out run him ;) ), me (no rabbit food, thanks), dsd-17 (typical teen), and then our four younger ones ages 6,6,6 and 5 (typical picky children). Would Mama's be better? What else???

We'll be at GF, but I was looking specifically for something at MGM/DS for dinner that night. I don't think my kids would eat Brown Derby, and I have not checked MM's menu yet for them.

I would suggest 50's Prime Time Diner - checkout the menus at allears.net

If I may make a suggestion - since you are at the GF - why not hop the monorail on Tuesday morning for b-fast at Chef Mickeys? Or are you headed off to a park, and just wanted to have b-fast at your own hotel?

And for Sat's b-fast how about Cape May (Goofy's b-fast) at the Yacht Club

Yeah, I called this morning to try to change to MM/Fantasmic, but the latest they had was at 3:30pm and that will not work because my youngest is a diabetic and that's just too far off of his normal schedule for us. Do you think we will need the Fantasmic pkg the second week of October or will we be fine without it? (Keep in mind that we will have to entertain four children ages six and five while we wait for the show to begin. LOL) The menu at 50's does look good!

I'll go look at the Yacht club brkfst now.

P.S. Thank you so much for helping me. Dh wants to go on the trip, but he doesn't want to hear any of the planning (just the total price! :rolleyes1 ), so I can't pick his brain about this.

I feel your pain on the DH issue - mine is exactly the same way. He has no idea how much planning goes into a Disney trip - and for some reason is surprised at how smoothly it goes:confused3 . He thinks I'm a nut for making dinner reservations so far in advance....for instance we had ADR's at Liberty Tavern at the MK for 6:15 p - we were having so much fun back at the pool that afternoon; he wanted to change them for 7p. I told him to call and get a reservation somewhere. Surprisingly he did; and the CM told him there is nothing in the World available for the entire evening....(boy did that feel good!)

I've never been in Oct; so I can't really comment; all I know is that we were there last week and the World was to capacity - we had the Fantasmic package - forget the preferred seating tix at the table; but got into the stadium and had pretty good seats without a problem. We got there about 1/2 early and I entertained my kids (DD5 and DS4) with popcorn, cotton candy and water :teeth:

I never said I was a candidate for "mother of the year"

MINE TOO!!!! I tried and tried to get him to help me with ADRs. He just told me to pick. So, the night he decided to question why we were eating at 5:30 instead of later - well, let's just say he was probably sorry he asked! :teeth:

I realize that I am probably hi-jacking my own thread, but here goes:

It makes me batty that dh does not participate in any of the planning. I mean, I'm not asking him to get up at 4am to try to get Cindy's, I'm just asking if he'd rather have Italian or French! Last year, I planned for months for our party of 9--no input from anyone--then everyone just raved about how wonderful everything turned out! Yes, it is amazing how spending countless hours planning and making preparations translates into a good vacation. Ok, I'm stepping off my soapbox now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Great line! This applies to just about everything DH and I do - we are having a rather large party this Sat - and DH really hasn't done much (well if you count inviting EVERY SINGLE PERSON he runs into and NOT telling me) and he just doesn't get that I need to know who's coming because I have to tell the caterers, he says, don't worry, my friends won't eat! I tell him he's right, because there won't be food for them. :rotfl:

Look at me - I hijacked your hijack!

Back to Disney - it does take a lot of planning, but it is so so worth it; and it doesn't hurt that I just love to plan - I loke to plan so much that mid-trip I start to worry that "what will I do when we get home; the Disney trip has consumed my life for the past 6 months?" I tried to book next year's trip already, but the CM told me that they can't do June 2007 pacakges probably for another month or so!
