You know, I spend part of my day at work encoding tv programs with the V Chip. I wish people would actually utilize it. It's pretty easy to set up.

To everyone who says Howard is porn and shouldn't be on TV at night.. have you watched HBO or Cinemax after 10pm? HBO has shows like "Real Sex" and Cinemax has the nickname Skinamax for a reason. Both stations show much worse than Howard.

HBO and Cinemax are pay television. Porn is allowed on pay television.

With all the hype with Howard Stern going to Satellite radio, I thought he wouldn't be on tv either. My husband asked me why I thought he would loose his tv contract too.

This guy is a slime ball-his show last nite had to be rated Triple X. And his side kick Robin-she is there to make us think what he does on his show is OK.

I'm not a prude-but I'm sure anyone's kids could have seen that last nite on the E Channel-ABC Family on my cable is the channel right next to it.

i am not a stern fan .... but you do know your tv has an off button and you can change the channell

E channel is also pay television as well. You cannot simply put up an antenna on your house and receive it. You have to pay to get it.

Ever watch the comedy channel late on Saturday nights? They sometimes run movies unedited like the South Park movie plus the Pamela Anderson roast.

There is so much technology out there to babysit kids for the parents.. v-chip, parental controls that it seems parents have forgotten that they need to also watch their kids. Demanding someone is removed from the airwaves because a kid might hear it... I say watch your kid, moniter what they listen to. Your kid is a kid, you are the adult. Step up and be a parent. And to those who say but I can't watch little (15 y/o) Jonny all the time I say deal with it. Even if you could watch him all the time he'd still sneak looks at Playboys and listen to things he shouldn't (Stern). This is where communication comes in. Talk to your kid about adult topics. Explain the difference between exploitation and choices. The women on Stern choose to go there for the money. He doesn't force anyone to go on who doesn't want to. If you parent your kid it won't matter if he listens to Stern or O&A; he'll know that it's entertainment not reality.

i saw it last night and i didnt think it was triple x. everything was blurred out that needded to be. and that show was no different than his other shows. it didnt shock me to say that least. i like howard stern for the most part but do not have the money for sirius. Grrrr....

NYPD Blue was great if you're into male butts. Blue was partially responsible for getting the FCC rules loosened up, good for them. They still had to play by the rules since they were on ABC.

It means everything. You can still get TV for free from an Antenna. NBC, CBS, ABC, WB, FOX all come in for free. You have to pay to get E, HBO and Cinemax. You may have to pay more to get HBO and Cinemax but it doesn't change the fact that E is also pay TV.

TV of any sort is optional. No one forces anyone to have it in their home. There is no law saying you must have a TV in your home. If you choose to have a TV in your home there is no law saying you must have cable. No one is making you have cable.

Off the top of my head: Springer, Maury, Montel. Yes, it's blurred and bleeped (as it is on Stern TV). Frankly I'd be more concerned about my kids watching Jerry Springer and Maury Povitch then Stern.

The cable channels tried the angle you are taking and lost. They are seen as free channels. Comcast's basic fee is what pay means in this context.

That angle is poitnless. Shows either push the edge or cater to those who want things clean. Just because a show pushes the edge doesn't mean there are different rules or any show breaks the rules.

Maybe the people who have problems with content need to push for different rules rather than picking on individual shows. I know I am.

I mis-read. On free network TV I have not. On cable for sure. Any way you slice it cable is pay tv. You have to pay to get anything above and beyond ABC, CBS, Fox, WB and a few local network stations. That means E is pay tv plain and simple. Case closed.
