Howard Johnson Hotel
1380 S. Harbor Blvd.
Anaheim, CA 92802

The Howard Johnson Hotel is a moderate hotel, located across the street from the Disneyland Resort.

You can see it when riding the monorail.

It is a 7 minute walk to the Disneyland and California Adventure parks entrances, but you might want to take the ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) after a long day at the parks.

Here is the Howard Johnson with the ART parked in front.

Guest rooms include: coffee/tea maker, refrigerator, high speed internet access, in-room hairdryer, private voicemail messsaging system, 25" tv w/HBO, CNN, Disney Channel, Discover, ESPN, and pay-per-view movies, Sony Playstation available for a fee, iron/ironing board, most rooms have dual sinks and balcony.

This is a ground-floor room, with a door to a little patio.

The hotel sits on 7 acres, and the grounds are nicely landscaped. The main pool also has a jacuzzi, wading pool, and a splash zone for the little ones. NOTE THAT THE MAIN POOL HAS BEEN RETHEMED TO A PIRATE SPLASH AREA - I WILL GET PICS & UPDATE THIS INFORMATION

There is also a quiet pool surrounded by the buildings and pine trees. It was quite nice.

Thank you so much for posting those pictures we are staying there in June and it is always nicer to see peoples actual photos than relying on the web page to show you the resort :)

Thanks for the pictures! We are staying there next month. Wondering if it will be easier to walk to DL or drive over....?

It is easy to walk over. In fact it would be about the same walk from the Timon parkinglot andf a longer walk from the parking structure how ever you can cath a tram from the parking areas BUT you can catch a tram from the HoJo. Essentially, you will not need your car.

This hotel always looks so nice! I was going to stay here, then decided to try the Disneyland Hotel . . . but now I'm triple guessing my decision and wondering if this wouldn't really be the better choice.

Thanks for the great photos!

Both are great places but the DLH is IMHO much better. The rooms are, in general bigger and are definately much more fun in their decore. the pool, which may or may not be a draw for you, is loads more fun at the DLH. Depending on the prices at the time of year you are going the HOJo can save you quite a bit of money.

Thank you SOOOOO much for taking the time to take the photos and post them. You cannot imagine how much it means to me (and others)! We are east-coasters making our "once in a lifetime" trip out west this summer and I want everything to be nice (cheap, but nice! ;) ). I just showed the kids the pictures and I will be showing DH later. It makes me feel much better about my decision to book at the HJ. THANK YOU AGAIN! :wave2: .....P

Wow - thanks for the pictures. It is nicer than I expected. I wish I had pictures now of Fairfield Inn which is where were are booked. (Three families). Now you got me wondering.

I just booked the HoJo, Disney view for 70.30 a night for December 5-10. I'm so excited! Thanks for posting the pics. :flower:

In building 4 could you walk to the side parking lot there on Harbor and then shoot up to the parks?

We were in building 4 last June, second floor, second room from the end on the jacuzzi side. There is a stairwell that lets you out into or very near to the side parking lot making it very easy to get onto Harbor. We really loved that building. Although we were right above the pool, it was very quiet. I will warn you though that there is no elevator in that building but that didn't matter to us.

Thanks a bunch, I did call and could only get a smoking room, bottom floor, facing away from the freeway. They said they would put a filter of some kind in the room before we got there to help air it out. I don't know what to do...maybe when I get there something else may come up?

hmm the pics arent coming up is it me or this? anyways of seein the pics since im planning on staying here in january? thanks!!

nevermind, it worked!

Mary Jo I'm not able to see the photos at all, is there anything wrong with the link? I'd love to see them too :)!

I thought HOJOs went smoke-free last year. We had reservations to stay there in November but changed to BWPPI when they emailed us and told us that they were going to become completely smoke-free before our vacation. (There were 4 smokers in our group & we had requested 2 smoking rooms)

Maybe you should call and ask again when they're going to begin their new smoking policy.
