Hmm. Wonder when it started? I see one poster above joined in 2000.

Made my first trip to Disney World in 1998, when I was 36 and had 3 kids. Really had no interest before that.
I'm not sure what year the DIS started I bet @Dan Murphy would know. I know I was here around 2000 (with another user name). My first WDW trip was in 2002. But had many many trips to Disneyland before that. I think the first one was sometime in 1975 when I was 3.

NEVER in my life have I said "I am x years young" because it is impossible to be born and grow younger. Today I am 72 years 4 months 1 day OLD and feeling every day in an *achy breaky* way.

Pretty sure it was June, 1997. I came here in March, 1999. When I was a community board moderator, (late '99-early' 02), the board changed software in April, 2000, and I had to re-register, but with same name, mine, giving me a year later start date.

I expected this to be the case but I'm in the first tier. My mom had an account on here years ago and I had watched the DIS's videos in the past so I decided to make an account. Plus I do really like to read other people's perspectives on here, especially from those way older than me.

This post made me think of the fall festival we went to a couple weeks ago locally. Lots of stuff for all ages but each group had to fill out a card stating how many were in their group & they had the age brackets starting with the babies and then several different age brackets, the last of which just said "old people".....yep that was my bracket

I didn’t realize I was one of very few in the first bracket 😂🤷‍♀️ I’ve been a Disney fan since I was a very small child and have been watching the Dis videos since my 6 year old was a newborn and I was up all night haha. I’m not on social media, just here. I’m almost able to move up to the next bracket on the poll but not quite haha.

I think it's very uncommon on this forumn. Most people are older - nothing wrong with that, it's just the way it is. When I post on here, I know a lot of people are older than me but I do like to learn from those older than me. Also I enjoy reading discussions from those that aren't in the Gen Z perspective. Not to hate on it. I want to see all sides before making my own conclusions.

I totally agree and feel the same way. I just never really thought about it. I really like seeing/reading all of the different perspectives and opinions.

Our youngest DISer in our group of friends we have just turned 30 but another couple just turned 30 not too long ago this year. We're a few years older than that, another DISer couple a several years older than us and then we have another DISer couple a few decades older than us. Disney (and Universal for some of us) is our shared interest but we have so many things we talk about. Age to us is not important, we never once discussed our age on deciding to meet or not, but we all do have our own lives we've lived even as relatively short as they have been for multiple of us and the conversations we have embrace that.

I do like that this forum has a teens sub-forum, that's nice to have and probably why you won't see many from the low end of the first bracket posting here. There's also a college sub-forum but I don't think that gets as much traffic and is more focused on the Disney College Program.

I'm 66, and I've been posting here for a long time; I don't know how I missed the "software switch" but I believe the September 1999 join date is correct. We took DD to Disney the first time in early March of 1999; she was 5 and my niece had just turned 1. I remember finding these boards about 6 months after that first trip, just before our second trip, and realizing all the great info I could have used on that first trip!
