Im looking for a "Mothers Helper" to come in once or twice a week to help me out so I can get some work done in peace and quiet in my home office. Or ( can you imagine???) have clients come over without interuption. LOL

Ideally it would be a homeschool teenager or a young college girl.

I would need her to help with the kids, pick up a bit ( nothing heavy), and help with meals.

I am planning on putting a note on the bulletin board at church.
So how would word that? and just out of curiousity, how much would you pay for something like that? Keep in mind this would be while I was still in the house.

I have seen these advertised in our local Pennysaver magazine. Here is my version:

Mother's Helper Needed

Highschool or collage aged mother's helper is needed to help work at home mom with (# and/or age) child/children. Duties include entertaining child/children will mother is busy working in the home, light cleaning and help with the meals. Salary negotiable.

I don't know how much you would pay, but hope this helps!

If you have a college or university close by, I would try calling their career services/job placement office and seeing if they have anywhere to post your ad for a mother's helper....my college has two big boards full of postings of all sorts of jobs, many which are mothers helpers/.

Pay depends on how old the mother's helper is and how much extra work you have her do. A high school or college age student would probably be $5 - $7 around here. Since cooking and cleaning are also involved, I'd say closer to $10.

My next door neighbor often watches my DD (4) and/or DS (7 months) while I am home but need to get some task done. Since my kids are small, I expect her to watch them and watch them only. She is 13, has the Red Cross babysitter certificate, knows CPR, etc. She asked for $2.50/hour when she started, but I pay her $5. Even that is a steal since my DD thinks Kayla is coming to play with her JUST because she likes her. :D You can always disucss/negotiate pay at the interview.

I find it so ironic that I can hire someone to watch my kids for almost nothing but have to pay a cleaning crew a ton!
