How would you spend a VIP tour day?

That's not actually true. At all.
But I agreee it's worth it.

Not to be argumentative, but I've taken probably a dozen VIP Tours and that's exactly how it's worked. At least for Pirates, since there is no FP - you go through the exit.

I *think* what she is saying is you don't get in ALL the handicap lines. She is right that they are limited to specific rides, for instance there is no priority boarding for Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Yes, the rides without Fast Pass that are available to the guide, you will enter thru the exit or handicap entrance. But there are rides that are not accessible to the guide. And sometimes that ride that isn't available is the one the kids really want to ride. :::thinking of watching my guide as he stood in line with the kids on Mickey's Death Wheel and wondering why::::

Oh, goodness, we are not going to waste our time standing in lines with the plaid, if the plaid doesn't have access. That would be such a waste. I will report back after the tour. Happy holidays everyone!

You've done THE VIP Tour at $3,000 a pop 12 times? Or just a tour? Even on the VIP Tour you don't go in the exit of Pirates...there is a private entrance.

Yes.
And every time we did a VIP Premium Tour we entered through the exit of POTC.
I've seen other VIP Tours enter POTC through the exit and wait on the dock as well.
Apparently you've had different experiences that are more upscale than mine, and that's great. I love hearing about other people's experiences and learning new things about Disneyland! I've never heard of a private entrance for POTC and now I'd like to see it!

I have to agree with Pinksand, every tour we have done (Premium VIP, maybe 8 a year) we have entered through the exit of Pirates. I am curious what entrance you have used.

For some weird reason I've always gone in a side entrance to Pirates, not the exit. I'm trying to find a picture now that I have of my cousin jumping in a small corridor that pops out by the Blue Bayou. I'm not saying we got a "better" way, maybe there was just a line at the exit? Or maybe I had a few too many drinks and thought it was a side entrance, but I'm 90% sure we entered in a corridor that wasn't the exit. :sunny:

My point was you don't just get "exit" or "Fast Pass" entrances with a Plaid, sometimes they know of some other way. :)

The "exit" is a corridor beside Blue Bayou. On the other side of Blue Bayou is the old entrance to Club 33. Looking at all the ways into Pirates, I can't think of another way in. Even CMs enter thru the exit. When you enter the exit you are really crossing a bridge that goes over the section of Pirates where the boats are coming back up, so after that entry, there is water to your left where the shops would be. Every time I have entered with a guide, this is where we have entered.

Just making sure I fully understand this... the VIP tour is pretty much just unlimited fast passes.

Much more than that...

The premium VIP tour guide gets you instant access to any attraction with a fastpass (via the fastpass line...you do not get instant seating). In addition to the fastpass attractions, there are usually 11 or so other attractions that you get access to without waiting in the full line. Access to those 11 vary depending on attraction...some are via the exit lane, some via handicapped access...all depends on the ride. Those other 11 attractions sometimes vary...for example. Jungle Cruise was not accessible by the VIP guide in the past but it was reported here that it now is.

In addition to the rides, they get faster access to charter meet and greets.

VIP guides have ability to get you table service reservations where they might otherwise be booked.

You also get complimentary valet parking at the Grand for two vehicles.

You get the VIP access to shows like Aladdin and Mickey and the Magical Map

VIP guides can get you access to the reserved VIP viewing areas of the nighttime shows like Fantasmic and WOC even after your tour is over (ever wonder how to get the benches in the Hub for fireworks? VIP tour.)

Park hopping on a busy day with long lines at the gate?...they will bring you in a side gate right away.

There is a lot they can do for you. You can do more in 6-8 hours with a VIP tour guide than you can do in two full days on your own.

OMG now I must do this, at least once! Must save money for VIP tour!!!

Excellent description! Add to this, if the park hits capacity while you are on tour, you will be taken into the park via the side gate.

It's probably the most beneficial to use o a busy time of the year then. To fully feel like you are getting your moneys worth
