How would you scrap a flood?

So in the 18yrs that I've lived in this area and living all of my 38yrs in New England, I must say that I have NEVER seen crazy weather like this.

We had rivers overflowing into the streets and it was just ridiculous. LOL

After getting out of work last night, I drove down to one of the roads that were closed since the river was literally flowing OVER the bridge, and took some pictures.

And since this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this and really don't anticipate seeing it again (but then again, you never know) I'd like to scrap this event.

Just don't know what colors to use, don't know what embellies to use, etc. Any ideas?

How about doing a Noah's Ark theme? You could cut cardstock into a basic ark shape and use animal stamps/die cuts/stickers

O would guess browns and blues but I haven't seen it so I don't know what colors.

I was thinking rows of blue piled up on each other- think rows of torn paper over the bottom half of the page and putting elements on top of it (so you can still see that as background. I like the Noah's Ark theme Mazda mentioned also.

LOL Never thought of the Noah's Ark theme. Might have to go that route. LOL

Hope you stay dry!

I am in MA and we have gotten a lot of rain here too. Lots of the small brooks/streams we have locally are flowing over the roads. We also have the Mill river behind our house and while it will never get up to the house, it has overflowed its banks quite a bit! I don't know if I will scrap it, but I will take a picture for my Picture of the Day project and write about how its been the worse in what - 50 - 100 years? I would use some of the facts they are saying on tv and in the papers. I would go with a lot of the earth tones for paper and keep it simple with not a lot of embellishments and keep more to the facts.

Maslex, glad to hear you are okay. The sun is coming tomorrow, hope everything dries up soon!

I would also second the idea of using light to dark shades of blue to create depth of water lines. Maybe add a house die cut or lawn furniture in the layers of water.

I might be wrong but I think Reminisce has a flood line. They are based out of Iowa and there was major flooding there last year. I would check their site or possibly Scrap Your Trip. I am 99% sure this is somewhere.
