DW intend to fly in the day before our cruise and stay somewhere at WDW (we are DVC members) and then go to the port the next day. On the way back, we plan to go back to WDW for the night and then fly back to Illinois on Sunday. How would you do the transportation to and from the port/to and from the airport in this case?

Would Disney transfers be an option? Since it is only two of you, the towncar thing might be more expensive that the bus.

I am considering Disney transfers, but I think the situation is complex given that we are not on a land/sea package and need to arrive at the airport, go to WDW, then go to the port, then return to WDW (rather than the airport), and then return to the airport. I suppose we could do the transfers straight from the airport, but that would necessitate two sets of round-trip transports from the airport and a lot of wasted time.

Then there is the luggage issue. I know Disney is great and all, but that's alot of movement of bags, and alot of people handling them. I would go for car service. It will be more money, but if you put a price tag on the time you save, convienence and knowing where your luggage is, then it's a bargain!

Rent a car at the airport, drive to WDW, drive to the port and return.

This is what we do, a 1 day rental ran us $36 with Budget from ship to airport 2 weeks ago.
We had to car for a week before we cruised and paid the weekly rate.

Try Happy Limo, Tiffany Towncar, Cartier Towncar or Your Ride. They are all Limo services and they have option of a towncar for up to 4 passengers, or a limo or a van for 15 people. I know they do a lot of business with people who have multiple pickups and dropoffs and they are very accomodating. I have used Happy Limo and Cartier Towncar and they were both very reliable and inexpensive compared to Disney transportation. Go to "www.happylimo.com" or "www.cartiertowncar.com".

Good Luck!!

This is the way to go. Thanks to tips on this board we used that method and it worked as smooth as can be. Plus, having the car was cheaper and gave us more flexibility while in Orlando. All for about $70 round trip.

Disney transfers can do this, I think it is a little more expensive but not much. We didn't go this way, we have the same exact situation as you but we are spending 2 days before at DVC, but we have 7 people. YOurride.net was much cheaper for the 7 of us but that was for a van. Call your travel agent or Disney and ask about the transfers, tell them your plans. It would be easier if you stayed at a resort that the Disney buses leave from, I know the Beach Club is one.
