How would you design the Bed Configurations per Room in a Future DVC Resort ?

We're talking FUTURE resort here. Disney can NOT change the configuration of current resorts - what they sold us is here to stay.
Even with a future resort, they wouldn't increase the sq ft in the studio. So there is no way they'd get a king bed in that room, even with only one single sleeper chair. And then the room would only sleep 3.

OMG - the reason we probably bought OKW was because of the king bed and the privacy!

Well, since this is all fantasy and it won't matter if what I want is not the most practical I would like some studios to come with one queen and a bunk bed. I would like 1 BR's to have two pull out chairs for twin beds rather than a pull put sofa. This way families with one girl and one boy would have an easier time planning out the sleeping arrangements. I don't want any one to mess with my King sized master bedroom!
Really though I knew what I was getting when I purchased and it is for the greater good of all rather than the greater good of two kids who would just as soon poke hot coals in thier eyes than sleep in the same bed!

That would be really great. It would make for a really class place

Sorry to disagree :stir: but the portable toilet would work better out on the balcony, that way at least you can get some privacy and a view. :rolleyes1

Also with 10 beds ( WOW now you know someone will try to put 2 in a bed making it 20 now in a 1 bedroom. :rotfl:

now this is what I like , now I don't have to get 5 studios for my family every OCT. We can all get in a 1 bedroom at OKW. :yay: :yay:

Only thing I suggest is another portable toilet at the front door on the porch ( 1 is not enough for 20 ). :p

I wish ALL the resorts had two queens in the second bedroom instead of that couch. I also love the king bed in the master and would hate for that to change. I want both my kids to have REAL BEDS, not those awful pull out things. I know that some people love the couch, but it has always bugged me that Disney started the thing with the couch when they built BWV. Maybe they could have some of both in all the resorts to make eveyone happy. I realize that any new resorts probably won't have two beds in the second bedroom, but I'm still hoping. We bought into DVC in 1991 with the knowledge that there would be two beds in the second bedroom and I hope this never changes at OKW.

Most of the DVC resorts do have two beds in the second bedroom.

From the Disboards...... :thumbsup2

At OKW, VB, HH, VWL and SSR all dedicated 2BR villas will have 2 queen beds in the 2nd BR.
At BCV some dedicated 2BR villas have 2 queens and a few have a queen and sleep sofa.
BWV is the only DVC resort that does not have two beds in the second bedroom. BWV doesn't have dedicated 2BR's. All are lock-offs and the second BR (studio) will have a queen bed and sleep sofa.

To get the dedicated 2BR, you need to place the request while making your reservation.

FYI.. Don't make the same mistake I did at BCV, make sure you ask for a dedicated two bedroom with 2 queen beds. I just got the queen bed and sofa when I only asked for a dedicated two bedroom.

What?!? Are you mad??? 10 twin beds in a an OKW 1BR Villa?

The correct answer is to put in 10 Bunk Beds (same basic footprint as a twin bed). This would allow 20 in a 1BR - or 40, with the 'doubling-up' that paults mentioned.....

New OKW 1BR would look like this:

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Wouldn't stacked hammocks be easier on housekeeping? No linens to change, just a pillow and a blanket. Plus you could get more than those 10 bunk beds.

Plus it would allow flexibility. You only need to setup the hammocks that you need. All the units might need another bathroom though.
