If we are staying at Pop and make reservations to eat at Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge one evening, how would we get there? Just curious as I have heard you must eat at Boma's. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. :)

Get on a bus from Pop and head over to any park. From that park, just hop onto a bus for AKL. Simple!

When we stayed at Pop a few weeks ago, we were at Animal Kingdon for the day and had ADR's for Boma at 6pm...so we left AK and got on the AKL bus...then after we took the bus to DTD from AKL...then grapped the bus to Pop from DTD......depending on what time AK is open till you can always go back there after and catch the Pop bus from there...it would be quicker.

Thank you, that is what I thought we would do but just wanted to make sure. Thanks again. :)

How did you all like Boma's, I heard it is excellant, just curious as to your opinion.

We were AK for the day, then took bus to AKL. On return trip, we took bus to TTC because we were staying at Poly. If you get there early, be sure to go out to the viewing area...depending on what animals are around, this can be the better than what you see at AK.

Our opinion was that the food at Boma wasn't that good. A couple of the soups were good but overall, not impressed. On the other side of that, it was recommended to us by someone that goes all of the time and it is their favorite restaurant.

Boma is also my favorite restaurant. I think you'll find that a lot of DIS'ers have it at the top of their list, but as you can see, their are always varying opinions.

If you search on the dining board, you can get a lot more opinions.

This is a great tool to figure out how to get around WDW.

So Pop to AKL is:
Disney's Pop Century Resort -> Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park -> Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge : 39 mins.

Be careful when following the routes on this link. Someone on the Transportaton board said that the information on ourlaughingplace is outdated, and quite a few of these routes no longer exist (or there are easier ways to get from place to place). I don't know this for a fact, I am just relaying what I read on a different thread.

In October we went from AK to AKL on the bus, had dinner at Boma, then took a cab back to Pop. The valet at AKL called the cab and it arrived in a few minutes. I think it was $14, tip included. Totally worth it if you don't want to hop from bus to bus to get back to Pop.

Boma is a buffet, and it has many items on the buffet that are a little out of the norm. So if you want to try some new exotic items that are not too exotic, Boma is the place for you. If you want strictly meat and potatoes, this may not be for you. If you a gourmet, you have to remember that this is a Disney Buffet. I have liked it the most out of all the Disney buffets.

I totally agree! :goodvibes Take a cab from your resort! Boma is great and worth the cab fare to get there. Besides, time is money. Why spend hours riding busses to & from dinner?

Or as the above poster suggested - go to Boma on the same day you got to AK. We did this last fall and just hopped the bus to AKL from the park. There in minutes. I suppose you could do this from any park, but I liked keeping with the African/ AK theme for the day. Also take time to explore the resort. We looked around & had a drink in the lounge before our ressie. Liked it so much, we are staying there for our next trip! :Pinkbounc

We did this our first night from ASMo and like greenhorns we got on the bus to AK...which was already closed for the night. However, we got a very magical bus driver who took us up to the front of AKL. Nice guy! So just a tip, if you're leaving from Pop for dinner you probably don't want to catch a bus to AK since it's not close enough to AKL to walk and it closes the earliest. If I had it to do over I'd probably just catch a cab.

What I like about Boma is that even a picky eater can find something to eat. The meats are really very good, some spicier than others. And kids still have the same kids' food available.

The soups are very good, salads excellent. And the desserts can't be beat!!
