How would I switch from a studio to a 1 bedroom after 2 nights at the same resort?

We are staying on Friday and Saturday night in a studio and then switching to a 1 bedroom for 7 nights starting on Monday. We will be staying in the same resort. Is it possible to move from a lock-off studio into the 1 bedroom or to at least stay in the same building? I think this would be much easier than moving around or does it really matter? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

You can make the request, but it certainly is not guaranteed. Either way, you still need to move, whether it be next door or to another building. If it will be a hassle, you may want to call bell services to help move you...that is even assuming that there will be aone bedroom available for you before your 11am check-out from your studio. You may have to store your luggage with bell services until you 1 bedroom is ready.

Last year we switched from a studio to a 2BR. SSR was very helpful with the move. They sent bell services and we stored the bags until the room was available. I held off grocery delivery until we reached the 2BR so that we did not have to worry about perishables.

We moved three times this summer. It was a last minute trip so I'm not complaining. However, when we stayed in the same resort we still had to pack everything up and store it with bell services. Then we had to be in the room when they brought it up! Something about they only bring it to an empty room from ME. If you're going at a slow time, maybe they'll let you just move to the next door room or take a late check-out to move to the first available room. Good luck!

Which resort? If you are staying at BCV, BWV, or VWL, you will be in the same building, because there is only one at each of those. If you are at SSR or OKW, you will have to make that request to be in the same building, but it isn't guaranteed. For Dec. we are starting our trip in a studio for Sat. night, changing to a 2 bedroom for Sunday through Thursday nights, and then downsizing to a 1 bedroom for Friday through Tuesday nights. I have had all three ressies linked, but I am fully expecting to have to move at least once in there, and maybe twice. My hope is that the 2 bedroom to 1 bedroom ressies will be in the same unit, but there is no guarantee.

Bell Services at any of the resorts can assist with the move. I wouldn't even bother making the request until arrival at the resort because even if the adjacent 1BR would become available on the day you move - you'd still likely have to be out of the studio by 11am and possibly wait until 4pm for the 1BR (unless it was vacant the night before). You should ask at check-in and even go down to the desk early (7am?) to let them know how appreciative you'd be to have a room available as quickly as possible.

I'd just plan on moving, allow the Bell staff to help with moving and storage and then move into your 1BR whenever it becomes available (you might even get one that was vacant the night before - even if it's not next to your studio).

Good luck! :)

We've done this a couple times at OKW. I'm afraid we didn't stay in the same building, or even anywhere near it! Last year, we went from the Southpoint area over to the Turtle Pond area. Even at HHI, we had to change buildings, which is odd since most of the 1 BRs and studios are in the same building. But it's not bad-got us to see a different view for a change!
