What do you think this would do? Would it make other parks more crowded and HS less crowded or just rides like ToT and RNR more crowded...
I'm there until the 30th so when TSM reopens on the 29th (when I'm planning to go back to HS to ride) its probably going to be more packed then usual right?

I don't think it will affect it at all.

The only thing I see being affected is the flow of the crowd at Rope drop. Everyone will turn right down sunset instead of TSM.

I think ToT and RnRC will be much more crowded at rope drop and more people will use FP there since they will not be tied up at TSM.
I do think DHS will be very crowded the last few days of August because a lot of people vacationing that week will make a trip or 2 to ride it once it reopens.

I'd have to agree

TOT & RNR will be more crowded during RD. Everyone who is there for RD will be headed down that direction. Good luck. It will be very congested

Another thought, it that many visitors don't keep up on what is closed, etc and find out once they it WDW and the parks. I don't think it will really matter in the grand scheme of things.

First I heard of a TSM closure. We arrive on Aug 28th, so hopefully they won't extend the closure!

:thumbsup2

Even really lengthy refurbs like last years Space Mtn or yearly's like Feb Splash Mtn catch most visitors by suprise. The simple truth is the majority of WDW visitors don't do reasearch........ I'll never forget the guy from a small island I met on the AK tram one day that had never seen that many cars in his life (and it was not even in the 2nd row of the 2nd lot), thought you had to pay for every ride and show after you paid admission and entered the park, and didn't know that Animal Kingdom had real animals. I gave him and his wife a 5 min crash course, a map, and sent them on thier way hoping they would figure it out.

I hope it reopens on time too. We head home on the 31st and would like to ride once before we leave.

Before TSM opened, didn't most people head to RNRc & TTOT at rope drop? I never used to get there for rope drop (maybe 15 minutes later) and I don't remember the lines being out of control that early in the morning there. I used to ride those two rides first and would usually be done by 10:00. So, I'm not too concerned with rope drop crowds over there. However, I want to try to ride TSM after dinner on the the 29th. I think that is going to be interesting. I'm planning on a 2 hour wait. Although, I'm really hoping that by 7:00 at night that it will die down a little.

On our last trip there pre-TSM, my son and I hit MGM at rope drop on an extra magic Saturday morning, tailed the CM's over to RNRc and rode it and ToT 6 times each within an hour or so. We were out of there and hopped to AK by 11am, hit Exped Everest and then made it to EPCOT by 12:30.

so does anybody have any other opinions?

Alot of people might not know about the closure until they get to the park....so IMO i think RNR and TOT will be packed ALL day..more than usual..

I agree. I couldn't believe the number of people we ran into last Sept that didn't know Space Mtn was closed, and it had been down for months! Feb it was Splash Mtn, evertime we walked over to BTMRR prople were looking at the closed for refurb sign completely dumbfounded.

Does anybody know what disney does at rope drop in this situation....You know there will be people arriving for the dash to TSM at rope drop who have no idea its closed until they arrive...Will disney make them aware of this before park opens?

I think we're not counting the fact that many people don't like ToT & RnRC because they are rides with fast speeds/inverts or drops. TSM is so family friendly; I mean have you ever met anyone who didn't like the ride, was afraid of it, or didn't want their kids to experience it? Probably not. With that being said, yeah, they may be a little more packed. But I think most people will not go for rope drop and maybe only spend half a day in the park...
