How will the M:S & Philamagic soft openings work

As a disney groupie, I have to admit I am a little in the dark on this one. I am on the list of those who don't want to come down for their next visit back to WDW until the two new attractions are open, but right now, my girlfriend want to go in september. Anyway, can anyone out there who knows how past soft openings were handled describe how they think it will work here. Is it something like official grand opening with press will be in october, but it will actually be open in july for those who know (but won't be listed as open on maps)?
