How will the last years play out

How would you suggest DVC handle this since there will simply not be enough units to handle all the points the last couple of years?

It would seem that letting the points tail off naturally with their use years would be the logical way of ending the contracts. There are only two ways of doing this. Allowing the contracts to tail off in 2042 or having them tail off in 2041. If that is the case and banking and borrowing are terminated I don't see a problem.

If you're saying everyone gets full points for those years, I don't see either as likely or workable unless enough people bail. One of the issues is giving those with later use years a fair chance.

Your lasts post was about what you bought and what DVC could legally do. They could legally do about anything they wanted. But what they will have to do is control final demand and match it to availability. They certainly could let it be a free for all and those that can't use points, tough luck. I don't see it happening this way. I am hopeful but pessimistic they will offer an extension. But even if they do, the same problem will come around in 2054.

I think the two most fair ways are to prorate late or have a lottery. They could also ask for volunteers to drop off. Regardless, I suspect those that can't use points will not have to pay the fees associated. And this is where the calendar year dues issue will come into play and I bet we hear quite a bit of "discussion" when that issue comes around.
