How will I know when my contract has closed?

I bought 100 points directly through DVC about 3 weeks ago. Will I most likely get a call from my guide to let me know the contract has closed or will I not know until we receive our permanent DVC membership cards?

Also, We'll be leaving the 2nd of August for WDW, so we might not have our permanent cards by then. Would we have any problem using the temporary cards for discounts ( valet, meals, etc)?
 
I would Call and see if the contract closed. As far as your cards go you can always have them made at SSR sales office when you get there.
 
They'll just make me a permenant card? That'll be great since we're staying at SSR anyways. Would I just ask the check-in host about it or is it a seperate building?
 
Cards can take up to 5-6 weeks to arrive in the mail. When last at SSR this Spring, we asked for replacement cards and our guide put in a request to have them sent to us (apparently, they could not be made on the spot).

Call your guide about the contract closing.
 

I think the cards at SSR are temporary cards. I bought a long time ago (1999), but was able to use my temporary card to get dining discounts.
 
oh, well. We have the temporary cards. That should be good enough to get all the discounts.
 
They can make permanent cards at the DVC offices at SSR. We closed last week, and have a trip planned for Sept. I emailed our guide to find out when we would get the cards, and he said if we do not have them by the time we arrive, then we can call him, and he will make then, and send them to our respective resort for pickup!
