If I want to ride Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Right Barge's and Dudelys Flume how wet will I get? This will be mid November. Is it just a sprinkling of water or should I bite the bullet, look silly and wear a poncho?

You can't ride the barges without getting soaked from head to toe, its a swim suit ride, the DD ripsaw falls, you will get wet, probably not totally soaked, and if you duck only your back will get the wettest, but you could also get fairly soaked on this as well, it depends on the ride, I've ridden it before when I didn't get all that wet.

You will get wet. Even with a poncho, the water sloshes over the side of the vehicle and soaks your bottom half.

We went on it 5 times in a row.

I had a few dry spots on my tshirt the first time. By the 5th, I was pretty pruned and I didn't really even feel the water splashing on me.

Had a blast!!!

We rode Dudley around 10AM our first day at IOA, big mistake. I think it's the first, minor drop that first gets you wet, (really wet) Towards the end, there is a part where the water actually is shot in your car at you sideways. DH wore a poncho, he still had wet shoes and socks, but otherwise wasn't too wet. DD's and I, on the other hand, were soaked to the skin :(. We did Popeye our last day, last ride. It was pretty warm, so we weren't shivering, but still wet. I wore Crocs that day so my feet were okay. Everyone else on our barge took shoes and socks off and put them in the storage area. CM's told us that that wasokay once we actually left the loading area and they "couldn't see them" do it. Still, soaked wallet made for unhappy DH (it was alligator, gift from an African friend). I think most of IOA is designed to soak you. Older DD and I rode JP twice, we were pretty wet then too.

As everyone else has said you will get soaked on Popeye's, it's a great ride though so you won't want to miss it. Just to note, we bought the cheap ponchos last year cause we were doing HHN that night and didn't want to be soaked all day and have to wear the same clothes, but the ponchos really only helped keep my shirt dry, the rest of me was dripping wet.

You can always bring extra clothes, rent a locker and then do these rides last.

I agree with everyone else, on Popeye's you will get soaked.
To be honest for me that is part of the fun, however I usually go on it in August, it may be a bit on the cool side in November?

yeah november will probably be a bit chilly for getting soaked. hmm, I definately don't want to miss these rides though! maybe as the last of the day with the ponchos won't be so bad.

We did these as the last ride of the day and good thing - we were completely drenched - shoes and all!!!!

You might not think its too cold to do water rides! A "cold day" in Florida is very nice day to someone from up north!!

We have done these rides during summer months as well as the winter months. The water effects seem to be lessened during winter. We still got wet we just werent as saturated in December. Bring a change of clothes or make the water rides the last ones you hit at the end of your day. :umbrella:
