How was Easter?

We are considering a trip to FW next Easter. I know it will be crowded, but how bad was it? Also, how was the weather? Did they do anything special for Easter? Thanks!

We stayed in ASM this time and not the Fort but the crowds at the parks were huge in the middle of the day. Many big attraction waits were well over an hour. We found the weather was great and if we managed fast passes and got to parks early or avoided parks that EMH were in the morning we got a lot more done and it wasn't too bad. We will go back at this time. The resorts have some cool stuff on Easter and the Easter Bunny was at Town Hall in MK all week.

We stayed at Fort Wilderness from the Saturday before Easter until the Saturday after Easter (3/22-29). There's no doubt that WDW is crowded during Easter week!! It's manageable, though. We had our ADRs made well in advance and went to the parks early before it got too crowded. Rides that we didn't wait at all for had 2 hour lines later in the day! I know a lot of the resorts have special easter activities, and I think some of the parks (epcot?) do as well, but we went to AK on Easter and didn't notice anything special there. The weather was decent - it rained some the day we arrived and the day we left, and the beginning of the week was a bit chillier than I'd like, but overall no complaints about the weather. One thing to keep in mind is that Easter was early this year, and it's back into April next year. We always go to WDW the last week of March because that's when our spring break is, and the last week of March is more crowded than usual when Easter falls then. I don't know if Easter week is more or less crowded when it's in March than when it's in April, though, as we've never been for an April Easter.

We were there the same time frame as mdoc...we arrived Friday before Easter, and left the following Thursday.

Parks hit full capacity or were close to it just about everyday it seemed like. My wife has now been twice with me, July 4th 2003, and this Easter...she says NEVER AGAIN either of those holidays!!! She just doesn't like the crowds...I could care less, just glad to be on property ANYTIME!!!

The thing about going Easter/Spring Break is that you are all but assured that all rides and shows will be running, and maintenance at FW and restaurants, etc. will be at a minimum...and most everything will be full staffed.
