How to write a PTR no one reads... Less than 24 hrs to go and still not packed!!

So we're not going. Yippee! But I went to the Disney store and bought him three t-shirts and myself one and a reuseable bag to get to $50 so I could get the 10% off with the Disney Visa. Then got a Disney gift card with my normal rewards card to be used for any expenses on the trip that won't be covered by the dining plan. Any extra $ left I want to buy a little something for the neighbor's kid, then my cousin's kid, then the kid that lives next to my folks.

We have a big clean up of the house before my parents get here to cat sit and I have a big packing for Disney to do. I keep telling myself 3 Mondays, 3 Tuesdays, and 3 Wednesdays left!

First of all, I'm glad it sounds like you and your BF are working things out. Maybe a vacation is just what you need! :lovestruc

Second, I am completely jealous that you are going to the wishes desert party! It sounds so very amazing!

Also, don't worry about readers, I'm sure people are reading and just not commenting. I lurked on the DIS for YEARS before actually starting to post. Now that I've started, I've realized that it's much more fun this way, but before I didn't!

Your cats are so cute! I'm glad nothing was wrong. We have a black and white cat too (mostly black) named Niles. He is completely gigantic. When we got him at the SPCA the lady shoved him into a box made for normal sized cats and told DH, "I love a husky cat." :rotfl2:

Your trip is coming up very soon! I love all the pictures of the stuff you have bought already. Can't wait to see the rest! The planning is half the fun!

Well I have a crazy sweet tooth. There is this hotel in Boston that on Saturdays hold a chocolate buffet. Yep been three time in a year. I'm like crazy addicted to sweets. I have eaten ice cream for breakfast. LOL:rotfl:

When we adopted our cats they were only about 4 ~ 4.5 lbs. each, at last weight in ( only one got brought to the vet) she weighted 8.5 lbs. And she's the only that my BF thinks is tiny!

Oh I have a lot more I've done, but I'm keeping it hush hush for now! Counting down the work days! Yippee! And one more is off the map!

Where is this chocolate buffet? I almost never have Saturdays off, but the next time I do (which won't be till well after our trip), I need to go!

In the Hotel Marlowe in Boston. Post Office Square. Its from like 10am - 2pm. Make the reservation for the 11am sitting so you can hang out there for like 3 hours. I"ll post some pictures from this year's. I took my mom and my cousin took hers ( my aunt) and we had a girl's day out.

And I'm guessing you haven't heard of the chocolate tour. Dessert at Top of the Hub, Boston Creme Pie at Omni Parker House, then ends with the Dessert Buffet.

Each year has a different theme. Last year was earth, wind, water, fire. This year was the different areas of Boston, North End, Chinatown, Beacon Hill, Fenway, etc.

That's fantastic! I feel like I don't even know Boston after finding out these secrets that city is keeping from me :lmao:

Thanks for the info, I am definitely going as soon as I have a free Saturday! (which should be sometime before Christmas  )

That sounds completely amazing! I could definately go for that, I have a terrible sweet tooth!

Oh, and your cats sound tiny. My cat is probably 15 lbs. And he's fat, but not terribly so, he's just incredibly tall. He's bigger than a lot of small dogs!

Joyce - I think they have some sort of break of not doing the chocolate buffet, maybe during the summer, I've gone in Feb., March, hmmm and some other time. LOL. I watched too much Phantom Gourmet back in the day and saw it and drooled. Plus it was on Travel Channel Pig Out Places.

Lexmas- We adopted the cats in April and its been just four months and they've gained four pounds each! They love their feeding times! My sweet little girls are so funny when they are hungry.

So I'm at work now and I'm about to blow. This guy  doesn't even express 1/10th of how upset and angry I am.

Remember how I said in the beginning I love the field I'm working in but not the company I'm working for right now. Well here is a big reason why.... When I was hired last September, I was told I would make a certain amount weekly for the first three months and then I would get a small raise. Well maybe the raise wasn't so small, it would add about $100 a month to my income. So January comes, and I go and talk to the owner and bring it up, and he's like oh.... I wasn't sure if it was three months or after a year. Well I thought business would be better and I coudl give you that raise, but its not. Ask me next month. And no one got any raises last year except this one guy, but he had a kid.... so if you wanted to have a kid. (No I'm not kidding you he actually said those words) I"m sitting there like :scared1::eek: So started my search for trying to get out of here.

February comes and I go to talk to him, but he leaves for a week, same in March, and then I start getting some interviews thinking this is it I'm outta here! Well nothing comes of those interviews....

Yesterday, we had a visitor and she was meeting with the owner and mentioned how I helped her find the place. He proceeds to tell her that I run the ship here and that I'm not getting any more money. ( I didn't hear this comment, but I was just told today by someone else in that meeting that he did make this comment). #1 I'm mad because you cheaped me out of money for the last 7 months, #2 You will only give me more money if I get pregnant and have a kid #3 The person who was running your office had to leave due to medical issues and I"m now running it, she made a lot more than me and you don't have to pay her anymore so why can't you pay me more?

Add this to the fact that when we were hashing out the income stuff in the beginning with the after three months you'll get more money, they mentioned their vacation schedule went like this: 0-5 years of service = 1 week of vacation ( have you ever heard such a thing?) 6 - 10 years of service = 2 weeks of vacation. I looked at them shocked and told them that one week of vacation was not going to cut it. They said how about 1 week for the first year and after the first year we'll talk about it. Mind you I had just had 6 months off of work. So I said okay, but who would have known that working for them would be so torturous that I would be dying for days off, just months into starting the job. Hence why having to go over a holiday weekend.

I was also promised medical and dental, and I went to make my dentist appointment and found out they never subscribed me to the dental insurance. They had gotten all the information, but never did anything with it!

And I stay here, because it is a paycheck. As people they aren't necessarily bad people to know, but as employers I wouldn't wish them on your worst enemy and I have no way out.

I hate my life and I can't wait to escape to Disney, then come back and deal with these a@#es and lay down the law with them. I want my raise, I want two weeks vacation, or I"ll go and they can pay my unemployment. Working in an enviroment when I'm the only girl on a daily basis and some of the comments of calling females "broads" are not enjoyed by me, nor are they tolerated.

Good luck! I really hope you find another job. It's not fun going to a job everyday that you HATE. I know. I did it for several years. :sad2:

I'm sure your trip will help you forget about it for a little while!

That sounds awful. It's so terrible when you have to go to your job because you need the money, even though you hate your job. This job sounds awful. Sounds like it's time to get a little more serious about searching for a new job! I hope you find one!

Ugh, I feel for you! It sounds like they were all talk in the beginning, telling you want you wanted to hear. What you need is to find a new job so you can tell them all to screw. The dental insurance thing is awful! That is a pretty serious thing for them to be messing around with!

At least you have Disney to look forward to! Then you can come back and really work on either getting treated better or getting out of there.

Good luck!

So far this weekend I have ordered packing cubes( we'll see if I use them), mowed part of the lawn (don't ask), vacuumed, and worked on cutting out mickey heads for decorations.

Earlier this week I put my park bag together as much as possible. I actually bought two bags. One is the Ebags Piazza and the other one is Heys Travelmate. I was going to use the Heys one, but now I'm thinking about using the Ebags one.

Wednesday the packing cubes get here and I'll start packing. I hope I can get the BF to wear some of the shirts I got at the Disney store. I'm thinking about canceling a reservation, booking a Signature restaurant and pay OOP for one. But I think I am really getting everything all figured out and what parks and everything like that.

I also have to put together my trip binder. Its a 4x6 photo album from target where I'm going to put all our trip info, ADRs, and touring plans for the trip.

I need to finish cleaning the house for my parents to stay with the cats. BTW they are being so cute! They were being all cuddly, cleaning each other, curling up and sleeping next to each other. It melts me every time. I love those stinky butts.

Sounds like you are getting everything under control! It's always so exciting when the planning starts to wrap up because you know you'll be travelling soon!

aaww hope everything works out if not just think you will soon be at the happiest place on earth with no worries :) hehe and I am also here for yea as well :)

Today is my last day in double digits before my trip!!!!!:cool1:

Things left to do:
1. Pack - I have a pile of things upstairs in a room just waiting to be paked
2. Confirm a day for dinner with my friend (former CM)
3. Finish Trip binder, upload pictures for all you lovelies
4. Get more socks! - I think I have three or four pairs of those short socks and I can't stand being that person wearing tall socks with shorts, the BF on the other hand doesn't care and it drives me crazy!
5. Send fax to Pop next week with room request. Upper floor, lake view, king bed preferred
6. Clean house - I have to make sure things are neat and clean for my folks. The fridge needs a good clean out and restocking.
7. Laundry - Not yet, but maybe next week at this time.
8. Get snacks - I have some granola/protein bars, want to get some fruit snacks.
9. Go to Target - I saw cool colored and patterned duct tape. Going to see if I can get lime green for my checked bag.
10. See if I can find my scrapbooking glue dots. No I have no idea about making scrapbooks, but it will help with me with my Mickey head decorations for the windows.
11. Write down wlake's tips and remind myself to see Ellen's shirt for lexmas

Anything else?

Its been raining here non-stop since yesterday and I feel like its 5am with how dreary it is here. Very hard to be motivated.

Super YAY about #11!!! :lmao:

I can't believe you're almost in single digits!

That sounds like a long to-do list, but I'm sure it will fly by!

My DH is the opposite about socks, BTW. He buys short socks specifically for his vacations. It's a bit of an obsession, which is also annoying!

I can't wait to see all your pictures! Take packing pictures too, I love them! (Not sure why, but it gets me in a vacation mood to see people's packing! :confused3)

Do you have to still fax requests? I thought you could just type them in with online check-in.

You're almost there! :woohoo:

Well I figured I woudl fax the request and maybe do online check in. Our flight lands at 9:30am on a Thursday so I don't think the check-in line will be huge. Most important to me is the 4th floor, granted no one will see the decorations, but it will be quieter. I like quiet. I think we might have a computer down there to keep you updated. When I can!
