How to write a PTR no one reads... Less than 24 hrs to go and still not packed!!

Because you know changing in the airport restroom can totally kill 20 minutes and Jet Blue and Southwest are housed in the same wing if I remember correctly from my ME map...

I always like to think of the MCO airport as part of Disney World, because its the first monorail trip you take.

And now I'm considering changing my ticket to an AP and going for a "quick weekend" in Jan with my cousin.

Change that ticket! (Mind you, this is coming from someone who's spent most of the last two days wanting to cry about her new job. I almost did lose it when I found a piece of Mickey confetti in the pocket of my shorts. How it survived the wash I'll never know....)

Thanks for the packing cube pictures! My cat would do the same thing, too! They look really useful, especially as my DH packs his things and the various electronics cords and I pack for myself, both boys, and the various householdy things like bandaids and ponchos. By the time I'm done, our things are strewn among the three suitcases, based on what I had room for where.

The amount of stuff NOT in your carry on is impressive! Mine weighed a ton.

ETA: I love Glee too. Hope it comes back on soon.

I think I saw somewhere its back on 9/21 so I"ll be home way before then. My mom is starting to get into it, she loves the performances, I lent her my Glee DVD. She bought Vol. 3 Showstoppers Deluxe Edition even though I have it.

The packing cubes aren't full except the one with Eeyore in it. I used the lime green duct tape to mark what was in those big packing cubes if it wasn't for my clothes.

Maybe we don't need to bring three suitcases! Maybe just the huge one Elise is sitting in and one for the carryon for snacks and keep it empty until time to come home.

I'm just not sure if I have the money to make an AP worth it. #1 it would just be me. Is it only 12 months its good for? So I'd have until Sept. 2, 2011? And is it worth $250 for the AP to have to pay maybe another $500 for flight and up to 5 nights hotel and no food?

Day 2 - MK - 9/3

Today is our only fully day at the Magic Kingdom, we'll be back for EMH and maybe a half day on Tuesday before we leave, but basically that's it.

We have a very early morning. ADR's for the Crystal Palace at 8:15am. * Edit: it is now for 8:05am!* Rope Drop is at 9am today, which means we'll be one of the lucky ones in the park before it actually opens. This should make for some great photos and hopefully we can find a PhotoPass Photographer to take lots of photos for us, because I pre-ordered the PhotoPass CD.

Taking the advise of other people who were at CP and trying to make rope drop, we'll give our KTTW cards early so once we're full we can head straight out for getting in prime position to start our day. Space Mountain for him, Buzz Lightyear for me. Today we'll go to Toontown for its rope drop and then see the Fairies (so I can get a signed postcard for my cousin's kid), and Princesses (for me and so I can get another signed postcard for her other kid), maybe meet Mickey again and we're outta there! This will be my first time ever on Splash Mountain. I'm terrified and anxious about anything with freefall drops, going upside down, and that which I cannot see.

I'm hoping for a late lunch using one (1) QS credit at Cosmic Ray's for the chicken and ribs combo meal, with me eating chicken and him eating the ribs and some chicken.

Then at 8:10 we have an ADR for the Wishes Dessert party which will be my dinner, hence the late lunch/dinner because he cannot eat just sweets. He has to have something substantial. He'll probably eat all the fruit and chocolate dipped strawberries. I chocolate dipped strawberries. I seriously dream about them and try to drop hints to BF to get me some. I wonder if anyone would notice if I brought some ziploc bags to *ahem* savor the dessert party after its over.

Wishes is at 9pm and the park closes at 10pm. After Wishes we'll hang up in the party area for awhile if we didn't get any FP for after. If we just hang out there, I'm going to see if the PhotoPass Photographer there can get us some more photos with the castle because once again we pre-ordered the CD.

Then back to Pop to let dear BF rest (poor boy usually goes to bed at 2am and gets up around 10am). Tomorrow is HS day and its EMH in the morning!!!! TSM run at rope drop!

Yes work is really this busy that I can post multiple days plans before lunch.

Day 3 - HS - 9/4

Today is our second full day at Disney World! We're are headed to HS for EMH! It will open at 8am. We'll have to be there VERY VERY early to be towards the front of the pack for the TSM run. I'm hoping we're on the bus by 7am again. Poor BF!

As soon as we get in, we are run/walking to TSM getting in line to ride, as soon as the ride is over we're getting FP for later, then going to RNRC and TOT for the BF to ride. Once again I don't do well with rides in the dark or free falling experiences. I also have a fear of elevator cables snapping due to Mr. Wizard. Thanks for that!

We saw the Muppets 3D in Disneyland so I guess we can skip it. We have to see Lights! Motor! Action! and Indian Jones for him, he loves all that action stuff and I have ear plugs for me. I want to see the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.

When we are about to use out TSM FP I'm going to get ourselves another one if possible and if the return time is before 6:25pm.

Breakfast: I heard the food at Fairfax Faire isn't bad.
Lunch:
Dinner: 6:25pm ADR at The Wave in the Contemporary Resort

After dinner, its over to MK to try and get a good spot for the MSEP. Once its over Wishes is at 10pm and the park closes at 11pm. *Edit - I forgot I'm getting us an ice cream sandwich to share. I love my ice cream and cookies, but even I can't finish this by myself!* This is one of our early nights back to the resort, we don't need to see Wishes again.

Yay for Park Hoppers! Yay for early night for the BF! Tomorrow we are spending the day in Epcot, eating yummy steak in a cave, and traveling the world.

Am I missing anything good to do in HS? Do you know anywhere worth eating? Should I change the dinner reservation so we're not having two steak meals back to back?

Day 4 - Epcot - 9/5

Epcot opens at 9am today. BF can sleep in a little. Head to Soarin' that was his favorite ride in CA. Must remember to ask the CM for Row 1. When we were in CA we kept getting stuck in Row 2 or 3. But being nice and asking doesn't hurt! Get FP for Soarin' since this is our only day here.

Then Test Track. Which yes once again I've never done.... why you ask? because I can't see the ride! I would love to try out the Kim Possible Mission. Ellen's Energy Adventure to get Ellen's shirt color for lexmas. Turtle Talk with Crush. As much of FW as possible before noon.

BECAUSE......

we're having lunch at Le Cellier!

More FW and really exploring all the different countries. I hate to say this but besides Morocco I haven't really explored. But I got the shaved ice in Japan and watched the acrobats in China.

Sunshine Seasons for dinner and we're staying until 9pm for Illuminations. Then monorail to MK for EMH from 10pm until 1am!!!!

Nothing and I mean nothing is better than BTMRR in the dark in the last row. Last time I was at Disney World everyone wanted to crash and MK was having EMH so I went by myself. It was the highlight of my trip and I still think about it and the ice cream sandwich that I had. Yes, another ice cream sandwich will be had with EMH. We will stay until about midnight.

We have another early morning tomorrow!!! and meeting up with my friend and former CM and his fiancee for dinner!!! I haven't seen them in four years!

yep I'm only kind of bored at work today!

DAY 5 - AK - 9/6

Our last full day at Disney . Today we're heading to AK which is having EMH and opening at 8am instead of 9am! #1 Safari #2 Send BF on Expedition Everest if he wants. #3 9:40am Tusker House breakfast with Donald. Get BF in Donald shirt please!

We'll do and see whatever we didn't accomplish with Day 1 and our (hopefully) afternoon with AK. FOTLK today, Flights of Wonder, go see the tigers, walk the trails, find Devine. Park closes at 5pm and we have plans to meet up for dinner!

Where is dinner?!? No idea yet, but I"m sure we'll figure out whether they want to pick us up and go out of park or stay in Disney and maybe go to DTD and eat, sundaes at Ghirdelli's, Lego Store, and maybe a movie. Last time I got together with them, I decided dinner should be Chuck E. Cheese and we were up until two am, goofing off with the prizes. The make your own bouncy ball didn't work very well. But we had fun trying to make the plastic clackers work like they were quality. If this falls thru MK is open til 10pm, Epcot until 9pm, and HS has EMH until 10pm. No biggie.

1. Pack - I have a pile of things upstairs in a room just waiting to be packed
2. Confirm a day for dinner with my friend (former CM)
3. Finish Trip binder, upload pictures for all you lovelies
4. Get more socks! - I think I have three or four pairs of those short socks and I can't stand being that person wearing tall socks with shorts, the BF on the other hand doesn't care and it drives me crazy!
5. Send fax to Pop next week with room request. Upper floor, lake view, king bed preferred
6. Clean house - I have to make sure things are neat and clean for my folks. The fridge needs a good clean out and restocking.
7. Laundry - Not yet, but maybe next week at this time.
8. Get snacks - I have some granola/protein bars, want to get some fruit snacks.
9. Go to Target - I saw cool colored and patterned duct tape. Going to see if I can get lime green for my checked bag.
10. See if I can find my scrapbooking glue dots. No I have no idea about making scrapbooks, but it will help with me with my Mickey head decorations for the windows.
11. Write down wlake's tips and remind myself to see Ellen's shirt for lexmas

Haha, I am actually jealous of your boring work day- mine was crazy and NOT fun. At least it went by quickly...

I really like your plans. I don't really have any good recommendations for CS at the Studios... we usually end up eating more Mickey bars here than anywhere else- I guess we don't get a real lunch there often!

I wouldn't change the ADRs... the restaurants might both have steak, but they are pretty different from what I've seen.

It all gets done!

I saw that you need princess pics, and there's no way I'll get to this in my TR before you leave, so -- go to France! When we walked through France one afternoon, Sleeping Beauty was there almost BY HERSELF. No line! There was one family having their pictures done and that was it. We zipped up and took a picture for my niece. I don't think anyone really realized she was there, because after we left, she was still there on her own. Also, if you get a photopass pic of her, you can add her "signature" as a border on the picture. I wish I had had the PP person do one of just her for my niece so I could have done that. All of our PP ones have me in them.

Sleeping Beauty was on the right side of the hedge garden/maze like thing (don't remember what it was called), to the back of it. She was very near the canal, too. Maybe the background of this picture of her will help you.

okay.... here's where my job is frustrating. I get all annoyed or mad at them and then they go and do something nice!

The guy who made me feel not so good about my trip comes into today and hands me a Disney gift card because he couldn't get Disney dollars for $50 and he doesn't want anything. Its just for my trip! FREE MONEY

Who wants to meet up and find a good use to it? LOL!

DAY 6 - MK - 9/7

Our flight out today isn't until 6pm.

We're starting the day at MK, breakfast is Cinnamon Roll for me and probably a Chocolate Crossiant for my BF. More rides..... Tom Sawyer's island to hunt for paintbrushes.

Lunch is DTD. At Wolfgang Puck Express, followed by ordering a meal to go, so that we have something to eat on the plane ride home since we don't get in until 9pm. I'm thinking about having the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It looks delicious!

I once went away for a weekend and forgot to pack shirts. I wore the same shirt from friday am - sunday pm. we even went to a mall so i could try and buy one. so now i make lists!

Honestly, I'd like to use it to pay some Disney magic forward. We'll see what happens!

Oh my -- three days! Earl doesn't seem to be heading FL way, so you should be ok. While I was writing my TR for our full day at AK, I thought of some other things my sister's coworker (who did the AK internship) told me, and I thought I'd post it here for you in case you don't get over to my TR before then. It's not like you're busy or anything!

Her advice: try to ride the safari first thing; try to be near the gibbons and simiangs (can’t remember their exact names) first thing as you’ll hear them calling back and forth (she did acknowledge that you can’t do both of those things on the same day!), make sure you see DeVine, EE is always crowded, and do the Oasis trails on the way out as they’re very crowded in the morning too.
