I sure hope someone responds because I am in the same situation. :guilty:

I'd also recommend going here; these people have always been able to help me solve every problem I've ever had with either iTunes or any of the models of iPod I've owned. Can't recommend them enough.

Good luck, and enjoy your present!! :)

It can certainly be tricky to get the needle to stay on top of it once you turn on the table... :)

Congratulations!
Did it come with instructions? I would recommend reading them.

I'm sure Apple has made them pretty user-friendly :)

I dunno.:confused3

I'll get back to you after I ask the experts --- my teenagers!

Sad, but true. :rolleyes1

Apple has cut WAY back on the printed instructions that they send with newer iPods. With my mini, they sent a nice thick booklet that was easy to follow along. With my iPod Touch, I don't think any written material was enclosed. There was a bit with my iPhone, but nothing I'd really call "instructions." I think they expect everyone to rely on apple.com for everything now.

I bought my son this book about 4 years ago:

Answered all the questions I could give him!

instructions???? That's a joke. I figured out a few things on my own with no help from their instructions(and,to Bgirldeb,I did read what little instructions were included before coming to these boards :confused3). I know how to download songs, but can't figure out how to delete them from the ipod. I need a teenager!!!!

there is an apple store in the mall near us. They have been very helpful in helping me understand the Itouch my DD received from her grandmother. They have something called the "genius bar". You make an appt and get 1 on 1 time with an apple genuis. We even participated in a free workshop in the store.

Here is how I do it. I hook it up to my computer like I do when I am putting music on it. On the library listing on the left hand side it will list your ipod and all the songs on it. Go to the music button, find the song you want off and delete it. If you have also saved that song to another button, say Beach Boys or Country, it will take it off of that list as well.

THANKS!!!!! I did it!

Ok how do I put songs on? DH is the one who does all this stuff and he's deployed right now so I'm lost!

I had his old one and it broke--he took his new one with him so I went and bought a shuffle. I just wanted a small one because I only use it for the gym.

I have only a few songs I want to put on it--I don't want our entire itunes library on it (they won't all fit any ways)

So how do I go about getting only those songs on the ipod. I have already put the songs in a seperate playlist.

Sorry about jumping in on your thread OP!

Here is the book I bought. :thumbsup2

when it is connected to iTunes select it to only sync that playlist.

it'll be under one of the tabs (I don't have an ipod handy to check what the actual name is) maybe music?

or ask an 8 year old.
