How to train your mouseketeer

Day 3 plans look great! For some reason I thought the height for Kali River Rapids was 38 inches...I could be wrong. Costumes....hmm...Connor could be Peter Pan, you could be Wendy or Tinkerbell and JR could be Hook. Or you could be Buzz, Woody and Jessie. Can't wait to hear what you decide!

Glad I could help! Having a shortie in the family helps with remembering height requirements! :cool1:

Checking In-we are also from MD and I got my Master's Degree from UMBC!:thumbsup2

If you are looking for easy costumes you could also be 3 of the 101 dalmatians (get white t-shirts and paint spots, wear headbands with black or spotted ears, and just do spots on your noses).

Before I start with day four, I would just like to scream to the world that my baby is POTTY TRAINED!!!!!!!!

We started working with him this past Saturday, and he's only had one accident on a couple of days, and NO accidents other days. We still have to tackle night time, but he has been in big boy underwear since Saturday. This means an extra $100 or so I get back in our bank each month.

I put him to bed with a diaper last night and when I went in to check on him after he had fallen asleep, he had taken the diaper off and passed out buck naked....NO ACCIDENTS! To play it safe, I put a diaper on him, but he woke up totally dry. I'm so stoked about this!

Onto day four of our Disney trip!!!!

Oh, wait! How could I forget my countdown!? 61 days, 20 hours, 42 minutes!!!!

Okay, Day four:

Saturday, October 1st

MK 9-10
Wishes 9
Parade 8

Epcot 9-9
Illuminations 9

MGM 9-8
Fantasmic 8
EMH 8-9pm

AK 9-5

Looking at these hours, I decided we should start out in MGM this morning. My plan is to RUN to Toy Story and get a fast pass. If the line isn't terribly long when I get there, I want Conner to ride it once and we'll use the FP later in the day. I also HAVE to take Conner on The Great Movie ride. He has a little bit of an obsession with The Wizard of Oz. One day, Conner and JR were wrestling on my couch, and Wizard of Oz came on TBS. The moment Judy Garland started singing Somewhere over the rainbow, Conner froze, and was glued to the entire movie. This was the first full movie he watched, and it's super awesome that it was this movie because I LOVED Judy Garland growing up. Meet me in St. Louis? Classic! Speaking off which, this is totally off topic, but there is a parade on Main street in MK every day, where people sing songs and dance just like in Meet Me in St. Louis. The first time I ever saw this was last October, and I seriously jumped up and down I was so excited. It was like watching the movie happen in front of my eyes. SO SO SO AMAZING!!!

Back to MGM; if Conner hits 40 inches by the time we go, I might highly consider taking him on TOT. I would love to hear some thoughts on this. I'm hesitant because I know its scary, but the other part of me thinks, isn't now the time to teach him what it means to pretend?

I told JR that we will have to do the single rider lane of Aerosmith, because I just can't miss this ride. It's too awesome to pass up. I was also thinking about taking Conner into see Club Mickey, is that what its called? I think you sit on the floor, and the kids can dance along. I would like to try this when he isn't super tired, so he actually wants to participate.

Has anyone taken little boys to the Lights, Camara, Action show? I heard that Lightning McQueen is now making an appearance, which sounds pretty rowdy to me.

Am I missing any other big attractions that would be good for Conner? Remember, he is two, so if there are any other shows he might like, let me know. I think Ariel is being refurbished right now, and I'm not sure if she will be ready when we are there.

We will go home to Pop (home to pop, oh this warms my heart), for our afternoon nap, and later this evening, we will head back to Epcot. I would like to have a quick dinner in The Land and hop on Living with the Land afterwards. I think a lot of people miss this ride because the line is NEVER long, and I can't understand why because it's awesome. There is just something about it that makes the ride so relaxing and interesting. It's definitely a classic favorite of mine. Since we will already be inside of The Land, JR and I will check to see how long the single rider wait is for Soarin'. Again, such a relaxing ride. I wish that I had it in my house so I could soar over Cali every day before work. If only:lmao:

Conner can hop on Figment at some point this night, I'm sure he would enjoy this attraction. I haven't been on the energy ride in years, so if Conner decides to be a nice boy, I wouldn't mind hopping on for a change. The only part that scares me is how long the ride is. I want to say 45 minutes, but like I said, it's been years. I would really like Conner to have a chance to ride Test Track, so we will probably save this for a morning fast pass on another day. I don't get the thrill in this ride. Yes, it's fun. But is it worth the rediculous wait times? I personally don't think so. It really is just like riding in a car, which is why I don't think it would scare Conner.

If we still have some more time, we will go into the old Living with the Seas and pay Nemo a visit. If not, Illuminations it is! And I still need a good idea for a seat. Usually, we walk back to the yacht and beach club because my mom always parks the rental there. This time, we will be taking the bus back to Pop, so I need a good place to watch Illuminations that is on the same side as futureworld. I don't want to be on the completely opposite side of the park when it closes.

I can't wait, it's getting so close!!! Thanks for reading along!

That's awesome! I don't really come across many people that have even heard of UMBC. Although, it was in Newsweeks Up and Coming university list the past couple of years, so maybe it will become a more recognizable university soon! My mom went there too.

The dalmation costume idea is really cute, especially because I'm trying to stick to a budget. I feel like the dollars just keep racking up. I tried to be cheap and not do park hoppers, but it just wasn't happening. I upgraded them to PH a couple of weeks ago. Now plane tickets are $88 each way from BWI, which is up from their $69 each way airfare in June. Pretty dissappointing:headache:

That's great that Connor's potty-trained!! Your day 4 plays look great! I don't know Connor, but for some reason I picture him being freaked out on ToT...but then again, you're his mom and you know what he can/can't handle better than me! I think he'll love the Disney Junior show!! And you know how much Thing3 loves Figment, so I hope Connor enjoys it too! Can't wait to read more!

Congrat's on the potty training! My DS still can't go overnight without a pullup on.

We will be visiting DHS on the 1st for EMH too! I'll see you in the TSM dash! :)

We are contemplating TOT for DS for the 1st time this year. He would LOVE the dropping part (there's a small ride at our local park that 'drops' you that he loves) but he'll be terrified of the dark parts and probably the line. I think I'll try to show him the ride on You-Tube and see if he'll go for it.

I can't decide on TOT, it will probably be a last minute thing. We shall see!!!

How old is your DS? I'm hesitant to put him in pull ups because I feel like they can't be much different than diapers.

That's awesome that you will be there on the same day! What are your top rides? I think my DS will like/dislike the same parts as yours...that's why I'm hesitant. But at the same time, I don't remember EVER being afraid of rides, because they were never built up to be scary. And I think holding off is the same as building up the scaryness of the ride. Yup, conner's going on. I just decided lol

Oh my goodness, Connor is adorable!

How exciting to be planning a trip! And how exciting to be potty trained! What helped us keep my little guy potty trained before our trip to WDW last year was: I found a Disney piggy bank online. Every time he went potty in the "big boy potty" he got a few cents to put in the piggy bank. His goal was to save up as much as he could to buy himself a cool toy at WDW. It worked great and he saved up enough to get an awesome Cars toy at DHS.

Thank you!!! I love your potty training idea! And it's funny that you mention the piggy bank, because I bought a mickey bank for conner last year, and he seriously pulls change out of my laundry and couch just to get ready for Disney. It's so full, I keep joking that he is going to have more spending money than me lol

OUR COUNTDOWN IS IN THE 50'S!!!!! ONLY 58 DAYS LEFT UNTIL DISNEY!!!

Day 5-Sunday, October 2nd

MK 9-7
no wishes
no parade

Epcot 9-9
Illuminations 9

MGM 9-8
Fantasmic 8
EMH 8-11pm

AK 9-5

I haven't decided which park we will start in this morning. I think what I will do it, look at everything we have/have not done the night before, and make a decision then. Whichever park we have done the least in will be where we spend out morning. I expect it to be MK or Epcot, but we shall see.

Looking at the hours, MGM has EMH this night, so if Conner will allow it, I would like to take advantage of these hours. Even if JR and I can get through a couple of rides doing the single rider while Conner sleeps in his stroller, I would much rather go on TOT at night! Fantasmic is a must. I will try to get there early enough to save seats. Even if just one of us hangs out while the other runs Conner around (bc he will not stay seated while we wait for the show to begin). Wish me luck! Our top priority rides will really depend on what we haven't done, or haven't done enough ;). I probably won't try to get Conner into any shows...other than Fantasmic of course! I think he will really like Fantasmic this time around for mutiple reasons. A) This kid is obsessed with dragons, and there is that scene from Snow White in this Fantasmic! And he loves Mickey of course, so seriously, wish me luck that he isn't exhausted because I really want this show to work out.

Also, I'm making some changes to our plans for day 1. JR's kids, ex, and her boyfriend are moving back to MD in like 4 weeks. This was just decided over the past few days or so, and the latest update I heard was that they would be back on September 1st. This means day one is open again, and I'm pretty excited that we get another day in the world!!! I can't decide if we should spend it at DTD, or upgrade our tickets to a 7 day PH. Let me know your thoughts!

Is there anything that appeals to you about DTD? Honestly, I'd take the opportunity to be at a park another day!

Hopefully Connor will LOVE Fantasmic!! I'd use your first day as another park day. That way the other days you tour you can do it at a slightly more relaxed pace...just my opinion! Can't wait to hear what you decide!!

Yes and no, but you just helped me answer my question. Yes, it appeals to me, but theres not enough to do at DTD for the whole day without spending a redic amount of money. Sooooo, we will be upgrading our PH to 7 day instead of 6. I think it's only like a $20 difference, so why not?!? thanks:thumbsup2

ANOTHER PARK DAY!!!! I'm all over it, yayy!!!!

A 7 day park hopper for two people is only $16 more total than a 6 day park hopper. I'm calling the reservation line to upgrade as soon as I get off work.

Thanks guys!!

COUNTDOWN-57 DAYS!!!!

I don't know why 57 days seems close to me, but for some reason, I'm finally feeling like this trip is right around the corner. I'm going to the beach this weekend, the next two weekends are free weekends which I plan to spend at the pool, and then I go to Chicago for work August 28-30. And before you know it, we are in the month of September! My trip month! I am also in a wedding on September 10th, which I expect to start taking up a lot of my time (AND MONEY:sad2:)

Day 6-Monday October 3rd-Our last full day in the park!!! :sad1:

MK 9-9
Wishes 9
Spectromagic 8
EMH 9-12

Epcot 9-9
Illuminations 9

MGM 9-7
No fantasmic

AK 9-5
EMH8-9

I haven't totally decided which park we are going to go into this morning. I'm thinking we will treat this morning like the day before, and go to whichever park we have done the least at.

Later this evening, we will spend our last night in Magic Kingdom, watching Spectromagic and wishes:cloud9: What better way to spend our last night in Disney, right? I would like to eat at Columbia Harbor House, and take a ride on Haunted Mansion. And oh, how I love the webway! I know, I know, it's called something else, but I'm stuck in my ways with this one, just like MGM:)

Gosh I can't believe I'm already on day 6 of my PTR. I can't wait for this trip to get here!!!
