My wife and I are taking our kids to WDW this year. We will be there over her birthday as well as my son's birthday. She is fully aware of the trip and helping with the planning.
What she doesn't know is that I have arranged for her parents to meet us at the airport upon return and pick up the kids, while she and I go to another gate to catch a flight to NYC for 4 days "by ourselves". Ideally, I would love to not tell her about the NYC trip until the last possible minute -- like, when she sees her parents at the airport. But I'm open to other ideas as well. What I'm struggling with is "how" to tell her. Any suggestions?
I will have a number of things booked in NYC ahead of time -- shows, spa day, etc. -- so I could incorporate one of those if I had a creative way to do it. I've thought of making up a custom "brochure" about the NYC trip I could give her, but that is the extent of my limited creativity. I know this isn't Disney-related per se, but I'm hoping you "magical" minds can help me out! Thanks!
