Is there a special way to tell if pins are authentic? I bought some on ebay and they look like they would be but I just wanted to make sure. They have the Disney stamp and most of them say which one they are out of a set and stuff. Just wondering if there were ways to tell for sure.

Well if they have the Disney stamp I'd say thats your only way of knowing. I honestly dont think anyone would try to rip you off using Disney pins, it seems way to extravagant of a process. I think people would lose money trying to duplicate them. I know people will pay a lot for them but still.

There are reports that 50% of the pins on ebay are scrappers (aka fakes), if not more. Yes, counterfeit pins are incredibly common.

To the OP, it's generally pretty difficult to tell if it's a fake and really there is no sure fire way to tell. But! An ebay member has written a pretty good article on how to help spot fakes;

eBay fake pin spotting

HTH!

it has copyright disney on the back they are tradeable.

however i only get pins usually if they say disney pin trading on the back. backs are usually gold or silver.

some scrappers have a dark silver back and somtimes the japan pins have black backs known as sedesema pins.

sadly most of the pins are tradeable in the park but then you have an ethical issue to deal with but as jiminy cricket always says let your conscience be your guide
