How to surprise someone with a trip to Disney?

Planning a surprise trip myself these are some awesome ideas! Which made me rethink how to tell my girls. One will be 7th grade and the other K. For the older one since the teachers will already know I could give a weird clue to each of the teachers to give to her during class. And the final clue could be in the office. For my youngest she is so clueless lol that I will just see how long it takes her to figure it out =)

I've surprised my DD twice now. The first time was when she was 6. We had to be to the airport relatively early so I woke her up with When You Wish Upon a Star playing and told her to get dressed, we had to get to the airport. The second surprise was just a few weeks ago. This one was closer to your situation. We were going down for a short weekend to see the Osborne lights and go to MVMCP. I picked her up right at the end of school, which was early for her because she usually goes to the after-school program. I had told her that morning that I'd be picking her up early because "we had some Christmas stuff to do." I told her where we were going when we pulled off at the airport exit and she finally demanded to know where we were going.

If I were you, I'd wait until you pick them up from school to tell them. Otherwise, they might be too excited to concentrate at school. Do they have special carry on bags they only use when they fly? You could hand those to them when they get to the car in the school parking lot. Maybe hand them their boarding passes?

Def going to wait till after school. My girls would not make it through the day for sure. Hmmm... They usually use their book bags as there carry on bags. Not sure how i am going to swing that, now that you mention it.

Pack a grocery or tote bag with the stuff they would normally have in their book bags on a flight. Either at the school or when you get to the airport, quickly exchange what is in their book bags for their carry on stuff.

We didn't tell our 5 year old where we were going. She'd flown to Florida before, but never to Disney, and for some reason she was convinced we were going to see my sister. When we landed and were checking in to DME she asked if we were going to Disney. She and I were both crying. ;)

We are waiting to tell our kids (6) (3) untill they figure it out on there own. The slight white lie is we are flying to see my grandparents who live in Florida. I'm assuming they will figure it out when we board magical express.
