i have a queen size mattress with a pillow top. It does not have a frame and I don't want one.

I need sugggestions on how to raise the head of the bed about 10-20 cm. I sleep with two fluffy pillows but sometimes my head finds the low spot. I have to sleep with my head elevated. If not, I get stomach acid that aspirated to my lungs and it is beyond awful. I do know how to minimize it happening, but sleeping with my head elevated is the main fix.

I don't know if it's better to just put a few books between the mattress and the box spring or put something under both mattresses. I want something that's cheap and easy.

Any suggestions?

We put blocks of wood under the legs at that end of the bed. Just be sure to have some sort of indentation in the block of wood so the legs don't fall off it.

DS has the same problem. I bought extra pillows and put them between the mattress and the box spring. Only raises it slightly but works for him. If you need more than that, I would look into wedge bedrests to put in between the box spring and mattress. I also know that you can by risers which I've seen advertised at Bed Bath and Beyond when they have their back to school ads. Although I think the idea that PrincessShmoo posted is probably the cheapest way to go.

A woman at work told us she and her DH once raised their bed on blocks of wood, but apparently the blocks didn't have indentations. One night the bed fell off and caused a loud crashing sound.

The next morning their college-aged son smiled at winked at the husband and said "All right, Dad!!"

I had to sleep like that when I was going through radiation and had my peg tube. I was getting wicked acid reflux. They sell these wedge pillows. I have no idea where though, because I was so ill and out of it at the time, someone bought it for me. Maybe google up wedge pillows.

My husband has to do this too. Just place some wooden blocks underneath the legs of the bed. I DON'T even notice the difference surprisingly. Not sure the centimeters but the inches to me looks like 4 to 5 inches.

Amazon. They sell everything.

I have to have my head elevated. I tried wedge pillows but they hurt my back because I'm a side sleeper. Felt like I was doing a side crunch all night. I even had a longer one that went to my knees but I'd just slide down. Raising the whole head of the bed worked much better for me. It looks odd, but once you're laying down you don't notice it or feel like you're sliding down. We ended up buying a special frame, but propping up the head of the bed with blocks would have the same effect.

That's a good point. I'm a side/stomach hybrid sleeper. The wedge might end up hurting my back.

I was thinking of just buying some bricks to put under the bed. Since I don't have a frame, hence no legs, I'll have to find something wide that the bed won't slip off.

I'm a side sleeper, too. I sleep on my left side. I don't have the wedge pillow anymore, since I don't have the peg tube anymore, but this is sort of what mine looked like. I feel like my wedge was a little thicker though Not sure. It was 6-7 years ago, so I cannot remember exactly.

Hmm..something like that would be perfect. Unfortunately, no JCP here. And my mom just came home from the States today lol

That would be better way to use the wedge sl9ip it between the mattress and box spring). I had it on top the bed because DH didn't have one and it would've made our king size matress wonky.

I used a Rubbermaid container. Long but not very deep, I think it was meant to hold wrapping paper. We put it between the the mattress and the box spring. Hope you find something that helps!
