I am hoping all of you could help me with planning our surprise trip to WDW this year. We have been telling the kids that we were going to take this year off from Disney and have a BIG trip in 2018 at Christmas. (This had really been our plan) However, my DH and myself are having withdrawals, especially with Pandora open now. So we have decided to go in October (our favorite time) and surprise the kids. My kids have been many times, so we are just letting them figure it out on their own timing. I am sure as soon as we land in Orlando and they see the airport they will have it figured out. However, the epic part that they will not have figured out is that their aunt, uncle and cousin (that we do not see very often) are meeting us at WDW. Their flight lands about 45 minutes after ours. They are not telling their DD about us or the trip either. We were trying to figure out a neat way for the kids to "bump" into each other either at the airport or the resort. Has anyone ever pulled off a surprise like this? If so, how did you do it? Thanks in advance for all of the great tips!!

I think I would do it at the airport. Are you taking the Magic Express? It should be pretty easy to stall the kids in the airport. Oh we have to wait for a bag, there is a problem with the return ticket whatever to buy a little time. When the rest of the family arrives steer your kids to one of the gift shops as the last minute time killer, have the family send the kids in and "bump" into each other. As long as there are no travel delays this should work. You could do the same a the airport as you do at the resort.

You could take the hollywood driver approach and have signs close to the time the plane is to arrive. Tell the kids that you are helping surprise a family that you are friends with on social media. Let them get in on the act - kids signs could say Welcome to Disney World at your family's gate and that's when your family gets off the kids could see each other.

Such a cute idea!!! I love this! Thank you!!!

We met my brother in the magic kingdom and surprised my son one year. We told my son we were headed to the airport actually, and just made our way to the magic kingdom. He was five-ish so the airport tram and the Disney parking trams were similar enough to fool him. We 'bumped' into him right after we entered the park. He was thrilled!

I would suggest having two plans ready. One for if your flights are on time, and one for if your flights don't sync up. I think meeting in the pool could be lots of fun.

I like the idea of meeting them at their arrival gate! Maybe make a sign and make the kids matching t-shirts? Your kids could put them on and then present their cousin with hers when she arrives? You could also "bump into" each other in the Disney store at the terminal or greet them at DME.

I bet you got a great reaction when they saw each other. I can't wait to see their faces!! Yes, my sister-in-law and I have been talking about setting up a plan for the airport and also the resort in case either flights are delayed.

I am loving all of these ideas!!! The shirt idea would be super cute!! Thank you so much!!
