How to pass the time before HDDMR?

I know I've seen information on the boards about just this but can't seem to find it ... Sorry for asking again!

I just booked horseback riding for the latest time slot, 2:30, and made reservations for the 6:15 Hoop-Dee-Doo. It's going to be DD13 and me. Any advice on what to explore or how to pass the time from 3:15 til the show? I'm not sure of distances between the events and what's close enough.

Always something new to try at WDW! So excited for both of these "firsts!"

The trail rides and HDDR are at opposite ends of the campground. Some things you could do:

• Rent bikes and ride around FW
• Rent a canoe/kayak and paddle the waterways
• Ride the various bus loops to see the cabins/campsites (you can even just get off and walk some and then get back on)
• Walk from FW to WL (near Settlement end of FW) and either bus or boat back
• Grab some drinks/snacks at Crockett Tavern, you can also get some from the window and take them to the beach or sit on the patio
• Do the boat loop with WL/CR back to FW

These are just some thinks that could fill up the 2.5 hours since you need to check in about 15-30 minutes for HDDR.

If you are doing it in the warmer months, maybe take some time to clean up. We did that last time and felt much better during the show.

Some good suggestions from @tobikaye above. I'd just add perhaps renting a water sprite from the FW marina and explore Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon - as long as the weather is good.

Good ideas and all but the food thing is free. You can even just do the entire boat loop over to the Magic Kingdom, get off there and do a monorail ride around and then take the boat back.

Excellent choices, all of them!

I've always wanted to see WL (OK, I've longed to stay at WL, who'm I kidding) and this may be my best chance to work it in. I even know about the back story, to further engage DD's interest.

We've never taken water transportation anywhere, so that might be a nice trip, just for its own sake.

I'm all for free, but just the words "water sprite" have charmed me, so that might be worth a closer look.

And above all -- I will definitely plan on bringing a change of clothes to put in the lockers for after riding. I suspected we might be a bit strong for our fellow diners, but thanks for the confirmation, TellTheHubbyLater! We'll find a place to at least change and wash our faces.
