My family and I will be at Disney from 12/23- 1/03. We had been many times to Disney, even during Christmas, but this will be my mother and our baby first trip. I'm looking for a special way to watch Wishes and I need some ideas or advice. I was thinking in the FP+, or the dessert party.

We are planing to watch the New Year's fireworks from the Poly beach because we have reservation for Ohana at 9:30pm that night. But I want them to see the Wishes firework on another night.

Any advice??

It's fireworks! Get a good spot in front of the castle and enjoy. The dessert party is overrated IMO.

We used to do that until one day after taking the perfect spot 90 minutes before the show started a father decided to push his way in front of us 5 minutes before the fireworks and put his kid on his shoulder. we tried everything and couldnt see. My daughter ended up in tears. After that we try to find ways to watch it away from the crowds.

It's Wishes! It already IS special! I can't imagine what could make Wishes any more special than it is. It makes me cry every time! Honestly, just giving them the gift of being able to see it is marvelous. JMO.

Are you able to get an ADR at California Grill during Wishes? My husband surprised me with this on my birthday once, and it is just a stunning experience. They bring down the lights and pipe in the soundtrack...just breathtaking.

The timeframe you're going to be there will be really packed. I would suggest a FP to take some of the crowd stress off. Or watch from somewhere outside the park. The Poly Beach used to be good for a stress-free view, but with all the construction, that may be out. The 4th floor observation deck at CR might work. Or maybe dinner at CG so you can watch from their observation deck?

Have dinner at one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian and watch them from there? Or what about a private cruise? You can watch Wishes from a pontoon boat or the Grand 1 yacht. If you rent the yacht you can have a private dessert party or even a whole catered meal (depending on how many people you'll have). If you want to actually be in the MK for Wishes but not in the mob of people, I think either the dessert party or the FP+ viewing area are your only options.

We're doing the dessert party. We have sweet teeth and will appreciate the seats. Added bonus for my 3yo watching Tink flying pixiedust:

Q: How to make Wishes special

A: Watch Wishes

Not sure if the FP area or Dessert party give you a view of the castle show before Wishes, which is a major part of the magic

Last time I saw Wishes I stood between my beloved husband and my darling son with our arms wrapped around each other and I hugged them and said "I love doing this with you and I appreciate that you know how much it means to me." They hugged me back. That was special enough for me.

I think I'm being missunderstud. I know Wishes is special. It is a must for my daughter and I cry every time. What I mean with the question is a special way to watch it away from the crowds in the park. Thanks for all the advices.

One special thing I used to do when the kids were younger was to bring glitter with me (thanks to my in-laws whom I saw do it). Luckily I find a nice person nearby that is willing to assist to preserve the magic. When Tink takes flight, the person tosses the glitter from behind us. The kids were always convinced that Tink spread her Pixie Dust as she flew overhead! Also, the people who helped over the years were also really happy to help. One in particular was a former CM who said we made his night!

Try from on top of the train platform at the far end of Main Street

This has happened to us more than once and is exactly the reason we opted for the Dessert Party this time. So that is our "something special" and a way to avoid the dreaded father with child on shoulders!

this makes me wish my kids were little again just to be able to do this!
