How to make my posts more colourful

Hi everyone I am fairly new to the boards and would love it if someone could direct me to a link that would tell me how to include an avatar as well as add a picutre, and timeline to my post. Any help to make it look less boring would be great. Thanks to all you clever people who will hopefully be able to help me.

When you are all set up and running add a frosted, snowed, and ho ho ho`d to your signature,and even a gobble if that takes your fancy.

You can put a picture of your family in the avatar (as long as its small) and if you want other clip art other then what Dis provides you can look for a ton of clip art on the web...

The place to start is by going to the dark blue bar above in the top left corner and click on User CP. That is where you will find the location to add dates, tickers, pictures to your signature. You can immediately add type in there, but you may need to start a photo uploading account up to add the pictures you may have. It's easy. Go to a host site like www.Photobucket.com (note: there are others, but I don't know their names) once you establish your account with photobucket (it's free) then upload your photos. Below your uploaded photo there will be three boxes. Right click on the bottom box and click on copy. Come to either your post or siggy on here and again right click on the screen where you want to insert the photo and click on paste. You will not see it until you either preview the post or submit it then go back and look at it. Hope this helps Let me know if we can help further.
