Hello

My family and I are in need of making a extra 300 a month. Hubby works from 11PM to 7AM. I babysit Mon-Fri from 6-4. I can not take another child in. We have 3 kids of our own so me going out of the home and getting a job during the day could not happen because we can not afford day care and hubby needs to sleep at some point.

Does anyone have any ideas? I can not just sell stuff because we need this every month..... I do not want to do out bound calls to someone either.....ideas?

Could you do some housecleaning? My friend did this for 2 families a couple hours a week and made pretty decent money.

Can you cut your budget by $300 a month? Is this money that you need to pay for monthly expenses? Do you own your home or rent?
If this is money that you would simply like to add to your budget the sad truth is that without working or being able to take in an addtional child to babysit it might not be possible for you at this time. There really is no job that is easy to do while watching four children at home all day (caring for four children is hard enough!)
If you have a college education can you tutor after school hours? Teach piano, flute, guitar? I pay my daughters private flute teacher $40 an hour. What about proof reading college essays?
Good luck and good savings to you.

With your schedule I would probably try and wait tables a couple nights a week or work at a retail store. If you worked 15 hours a week--including some weekends and made $10 an hour you would have an extra $600 before taxes. The "extra" money would cover the costs of working, such as extra gas etc.

I would check out the rewards board check out harvrygirl thread about 75 gift cards in six weeks. I know it has help a lot. I don't make a whole lot. Bet every but helps since down to my seasonal job and will be unemployed in September if don't find anything before than.

I would do rewards programs:
quickreward.net
simplegpt.com
mypoints.com.

I know get Wal-Mart cards for all three. I using these to pay for groceries right now.

Then mention that I got trip plan for Labor weekend. The trip is be total free. I have US tickets from mycokerewards. It pays working at baseball park. I have pick up powerade and coke caps for the stands.

I got Marriott cards from quickerewards.net 200.00 worth

Resturant gift cards from quickrewards.net and mypoints.com.

I am saving my swagbucks for Amazon gift cards use for Christmas. Yes Christmas present is be free this year.

I heard putting together newspapers pays pretty well and I think you can work from home.

Aren't these all online shopping sites?

Do you have a local Travel Agency that you could talk to about doing a homebased Travel Agent business? My local TA owns a TA homebased business in addition to his regular TA. I am planning on after we return home from our vacation doing the homebased TA. I will have to go to training meetings that he does 1x a month..

no they is not online shopping sites. I rarely buy anything online. I have not bought anything from these sites.

Okay I did get points for booking Marioott hotel through mypoints.com.

How about being one of those people at Costco or Sam's Club that hands out the samples on the weekends or evenings? That way you can still do your daycare job and maybe your hubby can watch the kids on Sat/Sun while you work for a few hours.

One time while I was shopping and trying the samples I struck up a conversation with the sample giver. She said it was a great job and they were pretty flexible with her schedule. She loved the job and the extra money.

I have a friend that does ironing in her home which she says works perfectly for her as she can be home with the kids and still earning

Making jams, preserves, biscuits, etc and sell them at a local market once a month.

Good Luck finding something.

You didn't say what days of the week Hubby works. Can you work outside of the house of the days that he is off? I.E. If he is off on Saturday/Sunday then you get a part time job at a restaurant or store on Saturday/Sunday.

What about your hubby getting a part-time job on his off days or perhaps your two splitting the difference -- you work one day and he works the other?

What about your hubby looking for a higher paying job? You didn't say what he does for a living.

I was told that the 6pm -11pm shift at the grocery store is hard to fill. Also Kohls I heard is extremely flexible.

I have made around $1500 so far doing online surveys and pay to clicks. I have redeemed for Disney gift cards and gas cards. There are several options though. Its not fast money but it sure is extra money. I am working for my next vacation!
I also work full time and have a part time job at the grocery store. It's a great second job.
I would also recommend Ebay. If you don't need it... someone else may pay big bucks for it! Good luck!

Check out www.marketforce.com. They are a mystery shopping company. They are great to work for and everything can be done via internet, from scheduling to reporting your shops and direct deposit for payment. They do lots of fast food, retail and cellular phone companies and they pay from $5-15 per job. You schedule jobs when you can work around your schedule. Depending on how much I choose to work I can make between $100-$250 per month.

Since you're used to doing day care, how about night care? Maybe a Saturday night kids party, where the parents can drop the kids off with a sleeping bag and pick up Sunday by noon. That gives them a date night out, and a chance to sleep in the next morning. Some parents would pay dearly for that.

When was the last time you raised your childcare rates? Not sure how many kids you watch, but maybe raise them $5 - $10/ week. Its not that much of an increase, but it will add up depending on how many children you watch.

Honestly, I'd look at cutting your expenses by $300 per month. Get rid of cable, cell phones/extras on the plan, use coupons, don't eat out, ask about trimming insurance rates, etc. Any money you make at a job (whether at home or not) will be taxable, so you'll have to pull down closer to $500 per month to offset the taxes, which means you'll have to work longer/harder to get that $300. Any money you save, on the other hand, is tax free. So $300 saved is $300. If you have nothing to trim, then you'll have to look at some sort of income stream.

When does your DH sleep?

I would have DH get a part time job. Either one that starts just after 7 am or one that ends before 11 pm. He can go from one job to the other.
