How to Keep Clothes from getting Wrinkled??

Any good suggestions for keeping your clothes from getting wrinkled when you pack?

Since we have formal (and semi-formal) nights on the Magic, as well as dressing "appropriately" the other nights, my lovely DW is concerned that she will be doing nothing but ironing. And since there is only one iron per two decks, she'll be there at 4 in the morning!

We're also getting our vows renewed by the Captain during our July 6th cruise, which means even more fancy clothes and more ironing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!:(

Do like we did. After we unpacked and DH suit and dress shirts and my 2 dresses and blazer were wrinkled along with a couple of other items, we sent all the dress clothes to be ironed by DCL's laundry services. It all cost under $20 to be exact I think it was $16.75 and in the scheme of things, not to waste precious expensive time, it was well worth it.

For the shorts and t shirts we brought the Downy wrinkle releaser spray and it works "wonders" or is it "Magic" pun intended.

Enjoy

I also use the Downy wrinkle releaser and it does work 'wonders'...

We pack each dress outfit in a dry cleaning plastic bag and it works wonders for reducing wrinkles.

Try turning your suits and dresses inside out before hanging or packing. When you turn them right side out and hang them up you will be surprised at the few wrinkles you have.

For anything other than suits and dresses, fold clothes carefully and put them in giant 2.5 gallon ziploc (or Glad or Handy) bags. Doesn't completely prevent wrinkles, but helps a lot and can be combined with other hints. Also helps a lot with organization. For suits and dresses dry cleaner bags can be used instead.

Just remember that irons are NOT allowed in rooms per fire codes.

I'll vouch for this trick! I travel a lot for work and always use dry cleaning bags to pack. Really helps reduce the wrinkles. :D

Mjasp....I am SO with you on this! I never thought of doing that, but you can be sure that next cruise I will! WELL worth every penny it seems to me! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I never thought the dry cleaning bag trick would work, BUT IT DID!!!! I could not believe the smaller amount of wrinkles by using the bags.

From reading this web, I found out that dry cleaning on board costs no more than at home, so we did not have them cleaned at home before leaving. On embarkation, we sent our formal clothes and DH white linen jacket (for Palos and Lumieres) to the cleaners. All arrived back the next day in perfect condition, ironed far better than I ever could.

For our other clothes, we either packed in cleaners bags or rolled them, and the humidity of the tropics took out the few wrinles left.

I do not iron on vacation.!

I pack with sheets of tissue paper between each article of clothing. This way the paper rubs against each other instead of the clothes and thus no wrinkles. I'm sure it goes along with the theory of how the dry cleaning bags work.

Thanks for all your replies. I suspect we'll do a combination of all of the above. We'll try the plastic bags and tissues when we're packing and take the Downy Wrinkle release with us to help. I also like the idea of sending the more "formal" clothes out to be pressed. And the cost does not seem outlandish.

You're right - we're on vacation. No ironing!
