HOW TO HOP: Getting from One Park to Another

Thank you all for this great information! :cheer2:

Well, this is news to me too! :) Tell me more about this walkway. How far is it? How long does it take to walk from one park to the other (at a moderate pace)?

As Robo has said about 1/2 hour. It's a really nice walkway and you will pass the EPCOT hotel area on the way. There is a path between Great Britian and France that leads to the walkway as well as the boat between Disney Studios and EPCOT. The walkway passes by all the EPCOT hotels so you can stop in those as well if you like. We did this on one afternoon when the parks were crowded. It was nice and not crowded. The Disney Studios entrance to the boat/walkway is on the left (when exiting the park). I think there is a sign, but I'm not sure but you will see the boat dock there. To be honest, the boatride takes about the same time as walking since it stops at the hotels.

Wow - I just went in Sept. read these boards for almost a year and I didn't realize you could walk from the World Showcase at Epcot to HS! I knew there was an exit there but just thought it was too the resorts. Great to know - that makes me start considering keeping the park hoppers. Was planning to spend 2 days at Epcot but wasn't sure if that was too much time, and my DS loves Hollywood Studios - thanks!

I am 20-odd days away from leaving, so I'm slowly starting to fine-tune the plans. The transportation part is a big part of it and for some fascinating reason, my poor solo brain just cannot comprehend all the ways around WDW. :rotfl2:

I'm sure it fine and dandy and super-easy once you get there, but I like knowing before I go. I detest getting lost and wasting time when it could be used more productively. :teacher:

So, thank you for the thread and my next thing to tackle is all about Transportation! The transportation board is not helpful, but I'll try looking there again. Maybe I missed something in my 'idiotic' brain. :rolleyes1

Give us a "for instance" and we can tell you how to get there.
Here or on the Transportation Board.

(Post a few of your "how do I get to..." questions.)

Yes, it is much easier once you are there.

...and stay here...they can get cranky on the Transportation board! ;)

Where do you need to get to, and from where?? I find that most people, especially on the Trans. board, are more than happy to help others find their way around WDW.

Hey, I take exception to that!!!! Facts, just the facts....that's what we're about over there. No, you won't find a ton of pixie dust blowing around, but you will find some terrific, and very good info there. People do get a wee bit cranky there but it's usually for a good reason.
Please....come on over, and give us a shot. We really are very helpful folk, and quite nice as well.

I want to say thank you to ROBO for his great info. I just wanted to share my favorite and sometimes fastest form of transportation.

HS to Epcot: I prefer the boat to the first Hotel which is Swan and Dolphin then walk past yacht and Beach to arrive at International gateway way before the boat leaves the boardwalk.

Here is my advice for hopping to all four parks in one day. this is my wife and I's favorite way to spend our last full day of every trip!

from Hotel take bus to AK; From AK take bus to HS; From HS take boat/walk to Epcot; From Epcot take monorail to MK!

I know it sounds crazy, but it is so much fun, especially at uncrowded times of the year! Don't forget to get a Photopass in every park as proof!

Well, it's pretty much when someone comes along to complain about an airline or rental car company. They make a complaint, those who are much more well versed in these subjects try to point out what went wrong and what the poster could have done in that situation, and the poster gets all upset and says that those on the Transportation board must be employees of the airlines or such because we never support the poster...it makes one cranky. We aren't saying that the regular person is never in the right, but if people would just know what to expect, and do some research, they would avoid some situations.
We say it all the time...no pixie dust in transportation. It's way too serious a subject to get all ' ' in. Yes, we have fun. But we try to give out straightforward info, as best we can. And that straightforwardness sometimes comes across as cranky.
We don't mean it to, but it does. We really are very nice people over there...really.

I can vouch for that. ;)
The bark is worse than the bite.:rotfl2:

We've only been twice. While there, we did transfer from the TTC to MK, but I can't recall how long it takes to get from one to the other. How much time does it take to get to the TTC from MK or vice versa?

Average time of (Express) Monorail from MK to TTC: 5-8 minutes.

But, it could be a MUCH longer time following a parade, fireworks, or when the park is closing...
because of enormous crowds exiting MK at those times.

Alternate routes from MK to TTC, Resort Monorail (stops at CR before arriving at TTC) and the MK Ferry Boats.
A Ferry Boat is much slower to load, traverse the lake to TTC, and to unload than the Express Monorail, but it carries far more guests than a single Monorail.

How would I get from the WL to the TTC? I am thinking of catching the Lynx bus to Sea World. I know you can get it at the TTC or Downtown Disney. Where is it located at Downtown Disney? Is its stop far from the resort bus stop? I looked at the schedule and it goes from the TTC to Downtown Disney, so would it be faster to go directly to Downtown Disney and then catch the Lynx bus or would it be easier to catch it at the TTC?

You might want to add that there are also direct buses to Blizzard Beach from both Epcot and DHS.

Wow, thx a mint all for this fab thread! :goodvibes

Newbie, question: I take it that it goes to and from as well (i.e., I can take a direct bus from BB to DHS)? :confused3

cheers,
:flower3:
