We have a fun Bon Voyage banner etc, we'd like to hang up in our stateroom but not sure what's allowed, if it's even allowed to decorate yourself or what's best to hang stuff with? And tips! ? I know on our Carnival cruise when we ordered decor they had it hung from the ceiling with magnets but wasn't sure if that would wk on DCL if I brought magents for inside or if ceiling was even metal! I know DCL door decor is magnets only. Just thought our kiddos would enjoy a fun decorated cabin for their first cruise ever!

so no glue no tape nothing that will scratch, just small hooks like a coat hanger off ledges etc.

I use 3M Command hooks to hang lots of things on the stateroom walls.

To add to the information above here is what is on DCL website:
Can I decorate my stateroom door or hang items over the doors?
A:
Guests are welcome to place magnetic signs on their stateroom doors. Please note that Concierge rooms on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy do not have metal doors.
Guests are prohibited from affixing items to stateroom doors utilizing tape or any adhesive, including removable gel adhesives. We have found that these adhesives damage the finish on the stateroom doors and therefore ask that guests limit door decoration to those of the magnetic variety.
Concurrently, we ask that guests not use over-the-door hanging organizers as they have been found to scratch and/or disfigure stateroom doors and trim.
Guests found with damaged doors are assessed a $100 damage fee per incident to cover the cost of repairs.

So using the command hooks won't get me fined? That's all I need! Lol!! We used command hooks and strips for everything on our carnival cruise, worked perfectly, no residue but I wiped off after with a wipe just in case

I wouldn't count on that. The rule (quoted above) state no adhesives. Use magnets or magnetic hooks.

I can't be sure, but I vaguely remember small pin holes in the metal ceiling strips. Of course, I could be thinking of another ship... If there were those tiny pin holes, paperclips could be used... Just a thought...

I used a hole punch to put holes in the corners of DH's birthday banner, and used ribbon to tie it to the curtain rod that separates the sleeping area.

Fabulous idea!! Ribbon packs easily too!!

You can reinforce the holes with those round sticker things used for notebook binders.

I also put holes along the bottom of the banner and hung cascades of curly ribbon to jazz it up.

Even with 3M command strips, there is a possibility of damage (believe me, it has happened before). Just invest in strong magnets for hanging things up. It makes things easier and no worrying.

The ceiling of our SR on the Wonder (other than the door) was the only magnetic surface. I use these hooks to hang my "ceiling fan" from a string on my sea sick days. :)

We use those same hooks on our door to hold our lanyards :)

Ok so the Wonder ceilings are magnetic! That'll work for what I need, or the hanging with ribbon trick, thanks so much!
