I'm looking for some advice on how to deal with the mask characters and the fact that they don't speak. I have a 4yr DS and this will be his first trip. DW and I don't think he'll have a problem with the size of the characters but need some good reasons why Pooh won't speak that a 4yr old could understand.

I think a 4yo might be too wrapped up in the excitement to notice or care, but if he questions it, just tell him that they are shy.

That reminded of my son when he was 3. He was scared to death of the "real people" but had no problem with Pooh, Genie, Mickey, etc. He sure didn't mind they did not speak. :rotfl:

My children never asked. I agree with pp.

When my girls asked why they don't talk..I tell them, do you see how many people want to talk to them, pointing at the line..if they talk to all of those people they will lose their voice...:lmao:

I dont think it will be a problem. Kids are just in awe to see them. My 4 year old has never asked about it.

I really don't think it will even be an issue. The characters are very clever at expressing themselves with hand movements, etc, and the kids are just so excited to see them.
