How to get to the outlets

I am thinking about going to the outlets, specifically a Disney one, while on our trip. We are staying on property without a car. I saw one person took the bus to Downtown Disney Pleasure Island stop and then took a taxi. Are there any other suggestions? Is the Disney outlet worth it?

The closest outlet mall is the Buena Vista Outlet just along RT535. I would suggest what you mentioned...bus to DTD and then a taxi. I think the taxi would run you about $10 or so each way. That said I often manage to find a weekend car rental deal from Alamo for around $15...you can pick up at the Buena Vista Palace or from Dollar at the Wyndham. Both places are right across the street from DTD.

I prefer to rent a car and take a shopping day.....I like to go to the FL Mall and the Premium Outlets on I drive.

When I looked into the shuttle service, it sounded like you needed a voucher from the hotel.

The city bus route would take over an hour to get there.

If we can rent a car for the same price as a taxi, or less, we might do that.

You should easily be able to rent at car for under $35(full price) for the day with taxes in. That is barely more than taxi fare and I'm sure you could find a few other places to go to make the rental a better option. Watch for specials and coupons to get the lowest price.
