How to get to the airport from POP

I have a little problem. I´m going to Orlando on April, 22th and we will use DME services (we will stay at POP). However, in the departure day, we need to go to MCO but not to take a flight as we will take a cruise (a shuttle will pick us up at the airport). I heard that Disney could take us to the airport only if we would get the flight. Is that correct? If so, how can I get to the airport? We were thinking about a taxi but I don´t know if there is a cheapper way. Thanks!

Disney's Magical Express can take you to Orlando International Airport on the check-out day from your resort -- even if you're not going to board a flight when you get to the airport. You wouldn't be cheating.

I made such reservations with DME Guest Services last year. I told them I would not be flying on our check-out day. The DME phone rep asked when we wanted to depart from our resort (for the DME reservation record). There was no problem making the DME reservation.

(Eventually, I ended up changing our check-out day and our flight, and I changed our DME reservation to a "conventional" DME reservation.)

If you use the online system to make your DME reservations, and if the system forces you to enter flight information, you could specify a flight that leaves around 3 hours after you want to depart from your resort.
