How to get to Sanaa (AKL) from Animal Kingdom

Hello!

My husband and I just decided to add a day to our park passes so we can spend time at Animal Kingdom on our last day there. We need to leave early afternoon, and I'd like to surprise him with lunch at the Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge- is AKL far from the park? What is the quickest way to get there? We have to leave from the restaurant- would it be easier / faster to take our car to the Lodge?

Any advice you could pass along would be appreciated- thanks!

Sanaa is a 5-7 minute bus ride from AK. Take the AKL bus and get off at the first stop, Kidani Village. Sanaa is one of our favorite places for lunch. It's a beautiful restaurant and you can clearly see the animals at lunch time. We also enjoy the variety and quality of food on the menu.

The absolute quickest way may or may not be to drive your car. You could take the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge and back. This is not a long ride; any delay will be caused by waiting for the bus to arrive at AK. Get out at Kidani Village. It should be the first stop. On the way back you will board the bus at Kidani and will stop at Jambo House before returning to AK.

If you want to avoid any bus waiting issues, take your car. You did not say where you planned to return to when you left the restaurant, and there are no direct buses between resorts. You would have to go to a park or DTD and change buses to go back to your resort. If you're going home after Sanaa and don't want the possibility that you might have to wait for a bus, take your car to the restaurant.

AK Lodge is just a few minutes from the park.

If you're leaving from there to go to the airport, sounds like you will have a car. If you're driving, the usual exit from the DAK parking lot reaches a point where you bear to the left and pass under a bridge. At that point, you'll need to stay to the right and take the turn *before* heading under the bridge, that will take you straight to the Lodge. There is, I believe, a sign near this point directing you to stay right to head to the Lodge.

I'm going to get brave and try a link that will show you this spot. (You may need to do some copy/past to get it to work.) If it works properly, the split that takes you to the Lodge is right in the middle of the picture.

Thank you everyone for all of the information!

I would like to take our car to the Lodge, because we have to leave for a family event in Tampa after lunch. If we were to take the car we wouldn't have to worry about getting back to the park to pick it up.

I'm so excited- my DH has been so great about all of the crazy dining things I want to do, I think suprising him with lunch at Sanaa will make him super happy.
