How to get tix with DVC rental?

Question for anyone who's rented DVC points:

If I buy tickets from Disney will they automatically be linked to My Disney Experience/Magic Band? Since the reservation was made by the DVC owner, I am confused about how this will work. I know I will have to call Disney to order the tickets because I will be paying with my Disney Rewards earned and with numerous gift cards (and online you can only use one). Will my tickets be mailed and I will have to link them? Or will Disney just link them to my room reservation when I call and pay? TIA!

Rented last year and bought tickets thru Undercover Tourist. Not quite the same, however I linked everything thru My Disney Experience and everything worked very well. I would say as long as the tickets get linked in MDE, however it ends up happening, you have no worries.

if disney links the tickets automatically they are linked to your MDE account not to a resort reservation if they mail them out you would just manually link them to your MDE
If you have a resort reservation that is also linked to the same MDE account that is what enables you to make your FP at 60 days vs 30
The resort reservation and tickets are never "linked" unless they are bought as a package

Thank you for the information. This is the first time I haven't bought a package so I am a little confused. I am trying to determine when I should purchase tickets so that they will be linked before the 60 day mark. If they have to be mailed to me I want to be able to get them linked in time. Does anyone know if Disney will give me an option to have them linked automatically?

Even if mailed, you can use the confirmation number when purchased to link the tix immediately to your MDE acct.

It will prob happen automatically. If not, manually entering the conf number to link your tix is easy.
